Insufficient proof for K-1

Here is the issue with photos. They are not primary evidence for approving the petition at USCIS but I do believe they can be important for front loading the petition for some embassies. A lot of times the embassy makes a judgement based on the file they receive from USCIS and don't ask for additional proof of relationship during the interview. So, it may be important to send photos in the initial petition that are then forwarded to the embassy. For some embassies it may not be important at all....

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

All we provided was hotel receipts and a receipt from getting into Mount Rushmore, and my airline tickets from my second visit down and my now husband's airline tickets from coming up to see me and maybe 3 photos one of which was a picture of him with my Mum and siblings and me. I am not sure the photos are regarded very highly but we submitted them anyway.

I will say that at our AOS interview the officer we had LOVED the fact I had brought a collage of pictures and asked if he could keep them and was delighted when I said of course that is your copy as I made a copy of it for my desk at work. :)

If you have it is good to send it in. But as other stated you don't have to.

For my K1 actually the CO went thru the pics and made a comment on one of them and that sprung up a conversation.

For AOS the IO went thru the pictures and kept them, but didn't ask anything or made comments on the pics.
