Hi, my fiance in Wales has an interview on the 18th of April in London. He has read that it will take at least 9 days before he will get what he needs to travel. Can't it come earlier? That's not a rigid date is it? I thought it was to warn against getting a flight too early. Any experience, welcome. Thanks, Mary, waiting for Colin.

Nothing guaranteed.   It could be 9 or 90 depending on final checks

YMMV

The UK forum has experiences with London visas reported and discussed. You might want to start using that forum. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

The time varies. It is not a rigid 9 days. Some take longer.

Many are 7 days. AmandaandChayne more than 2 months. Moreadore is still waiting since November. Both were told approved at the interview.

At least not unless you can get a good deal on a refundable ticket.
