Hey VJ,

 

Approximately how long does it take to petition a sibling with the same parents as a naturalized US citizen coming from Mexico? A parent?

Petition a Sibling? Around 25-30 years from Mexico.

Petition a parent? Around 12-16 months.

 

Edit:

For a parent to petition a son/daughter, expect around the same 25 years or so from Mexico (unless they are an unmarried under-21 child).

I am assuming over 21 unless there is a major age difference between you.

How old is your sibling?  Is he/she married?

 

The current wait for a US citizen to petition a Mexican sibling is about 20 years.

To clarify, “current wait” refers to people who applied 20 years ago that are just becoming eligible now. Somebody applying today would likely wait even longer (historically it gets longer, not shorter).
