Adjustment of Status from K1 visa

Good morning everyone,

When adjusting from K1 Visa, do we also need to complete the biographical form G-325A along with the I485? Also can we omit the form 131 since fiance do not intend to travel anytime soon? Form is asking for intended date of departure and we do not have that. Thank you.

G-325As haven't been required for the K-1 or AOS for almost 2 years now. Check the guides here + instructions...it sounds like you're following an outdated guide.

 

You can skip the I-131 but there is no good reason to do so. You may not plan to travel abroad, but something can come up (family medical issue?) requiring it.

"As Needed" or "TBD" is fine for the reason/date.

As noted, might as well apply for the I-131 witrh the EAD since both are free with the I-485.

 

You don't have to put any dates down or anything. We didn't.

Better safe than sorry and apply for the AP/EAD combo card in case you need to travel abroad for an emergency.
