My Fiance' just landed in SFO airport off the straight flight from manila via Philippines airlines. The longest layover we could find in building the route plan ourselves was just under 4 hours. I am wondering if anyone can comment on the length of time everything might take at this time on a Wednesday at SFO? with immigration and check in? She will be arriving at terminal 1 international and leaving from terminal 3 United Airlines domestic. We made contact for a brief moment but she forgot a sim ejector for her iPhone. 😯

I am hoping the time will be brief for her going through the POE process. I am really clueless about SFO tho. Can anyone who has passed through SFO share their experience with me?

Normally I always recommend 4 hour minimum. Your mileage may vary.

I went through SFO recently, but my experience may not be very relevant as I was on a tourist visa, not K1.  Took me just a little over an hour from disembarking to getting my checked-in luggage.  Then I spent a few days sightseeing in the Bay Area before taking a direct flight from SFO domestic terminal 2 to MSY in Kenner.

Anyway, it was easy to find my way through the airport as there were ushers directing passengers to where they needed to go.  There were also information desks at easy-to-spot areas on every floor.

One thing I found both surprising and comforting at SFO was that there were so many Filipino airport staff! ☺️  I didn't need to approach any of them, but just hearing them talking to each other relieved some of my anxiety at being somewhere I had never been to before.

I hope your fiancee will have a hassle-free time at SFO like I did ☺️

Aww :(  Did she make it to her flight?

No. It took her 4+ hours to get through the line. The Airbus system is out of service as well so she had to walk. They put her on a flight 10 hours from now. 10 hours long. Frustrating...😑
