Hey Luke,

Could you be flexible on your dates of travel? Just had a look on skyscanner and it’ll be half the price if you fly on the 16th instead of the 11th?

We obviously really fluked it with Herschell’s flights (he’s got a one way from LA to Gatwick, so that he arrives on Sunday 17th November and can then take the cruise back with me on Tuesday 19th) - it only cost £200...admittedly though, Gatwick is an hour’s extra drive from me (3.5 hours one way), however, it was an extra £250 to fly to Heathrow, which Herschell was going to book, until I told him off 😂.

We're going to have a look, the 11th works well as I can get a lift down to Heathrow then instead of fighting with tube/trains and whatnot :)

Heathrow is so much better to drive to than Gatwick though :P But that's worked out amazingly for your dates hasn't it and the cruises. I guess it's the downside of Detroit being the main airport for us, it's not quite a tourist hotspot for leisure flights is it.

Going to have a little play as I can get a return for Feb/Mar 2020 and it'll be £650 ish on Delta's sight so

Whats wrong with just cacelling? You get the confirmation email anyway. I am sure there are bigger records on the systems if you left the country or not, than your flight tickets

The initial post had the mention of a story that someone was denied or questioned on AOS as it showed them leaving the country. But Wuozopo has advised pretty much a very rare occurrence so :) Just me over thinking

i was more concerned about getting one way ticket, cause read here somewhere that airlines never heard of k1 and didn't want to let the person get on board 😄 as he didnt have a return ticket

Any airline check in agent who cannot read a visa should be fired. That was one of the first things I learned when I started my career over 20 years ago.

Good too see things moving forward so quickly for you Like, exciting times ahead.  On the subject of flights I'm curious to what people use to find there's and if there is certain sights they find more affluent in deals/better prices flights.

I for some reason keep seeming winging my way back to cheapflights.co.uk, which I know is an aggregator like most, but that's not to say one isn't better than the other

There's a few different sites:

https://www.skyscanner.net/

https://www.momondo.co.uk/

https://www.expedia.co.uk/

Obviously google flights also

One thing I found was acually for my Christmas flights, I signed up to https://jacksflightclub.com/  and you can email them with locations you're interested in, I got a return flight over the Christmas period confirmed for like £475 (LHR - DTW).  Which was actually through an OTA (Online travel agent) called budget air, terrible customer service, extortionate phone fees if you did have to call, booked me through Virgin but other than that....perfect. Flight confirmation received in 10 minutes but was 100% unable to change it. They printed my middlename attached to my surname which knocked out online or booth check-in out but

If you're booking far enough in advance though generally speaking, the operating Airline (Delta/BA/Virgin) will be your best bet.

I guess it just depends on your destination never flew with Delta or virgin it's been BA/KLM mainly for me, but I'm heading to San Fran and always have a transfer, I once flew with American, and that was the worst experience ever and I've avoided them ever since 😅

So when is the big day pencilled in for?

See we're kinda' (completely) hemmed in to fly Delta if we want to fly into Detroit! Especially without internal transfers.

Big day is the 22nd June :D

Ohh not too long in the grand scheme of things considering the length of time we spend waiting 😆

Yeah I done an internal transfer in Philly once and ended up spending the night in the airport due to weather screwing up flights in and out and requiring another 2 additional flights, never again, I have since always transferred this side of the pond and had done previously before that traumatic experience 🤪
