We had our green card interview today! It took 11 months from mailing out our adjustment of status from the K1 visa to get to this interview today!

For those in Orlando--your time will come! The office is super slow! I saw a sign that says they do not take walk in!

We arrived an hour and a half early and decided to head down to a Walgreen nearby to get more photos as evidence (because why not?). When we got back, we will had over hour before we could check in so we sat in my car for a bit. 35 minutes until the interview, we finally went in.

It was a very quiet building with barely anyone around. Check in was easy. Please remember to bring your passport and ID. I can't stress that enough!

Even though our interview was at 9:40AM, we didn't get seen till almost 10:15AM! Our interviewer kept poking fun at me for being so nervous!

He didn't even look at any of the evidence we brought in. He just asked my husband his parents' name and date of birth and questions from the adjustment of status packet. Then they had a conversation about tea vs coffee. And that was it! We had a stack of evidence and we were told to put it away!

Overall, it was a very short and breezy "interview." :)

Glad you had such a good experience! Love the stories where the IO is super humane. My local office is Philadelphia, so we have prob still a year or so to go (filed September 2018)

Did they suggest your husband for approval?

If your interview was short and they hardly asked for docs. This means you did a good job submitting what they needed already. Front loading works too.

Yes, they did! Nothing has updated on the website but the guy was hinting that we were approved and spoke about ROC and recommended to file within the 90 period. So I suppose that is a sign of approval! :)

We filed on April 6th (almost exactly a year!). According to the USCIS website, Orlando is taking 14 - 21.5 months but we got in by 11 months. I think you guys will probably get an interview a lot sooner than the expected wait on the website like us!

Nice, congrats! Sometimes it takes a few days/weeks for them to actually approve it, but you're recommended for approval so you should be good! Hope the actual approval + card comes in fast!
