My husband had the interview in the Embassy of the United States In Cairo on February 18,2019. The officer checked everything and he told my husband that he needs to upload the joint sponsor form I864 and the tax transcript including the proof of citizenship on the ceac website. At the interview they took his passport, birth certificate, 2passport pictures, took marriage certificate and medical. He did the oath. They didn’t say approved though. I checked case tracker and it says ap. Today, my lawyer submitted everything on the website. How long until the consulate reviews my documents and issue my visa? Also does the embassy check the documents as soon as I submit them? Thank you so much

Keep an eye on your case status every day online. Once you submit it it’s a waiting game but the fact that they have his passport is a good sign the the visa should be issued soon. There’s no exact time frame of how long you’ll be in AP it’s different for everyone. As long as you submitted everything they asked for it should be fine

It really depends. Don’t count on them looking at it the instant they receive it just be patient. As long as you submitted everything they asked for it shouldn’t be long

No Embassy would look it up and case will be update to who might know issued the visa so good luck and keep eye on case status might take little longer

But wouldn’t they check today or they would wait 2 weeks in order to check it?

After I submit require documents to embassy in Islamabad , Take about 3 month to replay back from embassy before they call me for oath and finger print , after that they issued my visa

3 months in order to reply?? Your embassy is Cairo as well? My husband already did the oath and the fingerprint tho.

having had experience with the embassy in Cairo do not expect them to look at those documents for a good 30-60 days, typically AP is resolved 60-90 days from the date you submit the papers.

be patient this is not likely something that will happen in 30 days but it might.

means they got the papers and opened your account but not that they finished the review.

the date changes any time they open your file, it could be because you sent an email, it could be because they got notification of the submission.

But it means that they started reviewing it right?

not really, it just means they opened it because NVC sent them a message they don't by law have to review it till they are ready. Cairo embassy, love to leave people in AP for as long as they can.

Yeah but many people have done complaints so I doubt it. It takes just a month.
