I’m sure we all start out our adult tax lives like this, because we are not properly educated in school nor at home.  I have no idea what my parents’ taxes were like; they never discussed it with me.

I agree, but for someone who doesn't pay attention to withholdings and just assumes that they got calculated correctly, they might be surprised if they got a refund last year but have to pay this year

Of course we do, but when they don’t pay under a Democrat President it’s bad, but when they don’t pay under a Republican it’s OK.

I got my college paperwork back and I didn't realize that I paid over $12k for school. So now I have to amend my taxes.
