2019-02-10 - Filed application online.

2019-02-10 - We received your application.

2019-02-15 - We scheduled your biometrics appointment.

2019-03-08  - Went to the biometrics appointment, took about an hour, just captured my four fingers, photo and a signature. They finally gave me the civics test handbook.

2019-03-08 - We reviewed your biometrics.

2019-09-24 - We scheduled your interview.

2019-10-28 -

Attended the interview, the interviewer didn't look happy, just still very nice during the interview, it lasted about 20 minutes.

- She started with civics and English tests first.

Civics Test Questions:

1. What is the war between the South and the North? The Civil War.

2. When was the Constitution written? 1787.

3. What ocean is on the east coast? Atlantic Ocean.
4. Who was the first President? George Washington.
5. What do we call the first ten amendments? The Bill of Rights.
6. Name one branch of the government. Congress.
 

Writing/Reading Test:

1. Reading: Who lives in the White House?
2. Writing: The president lives in the White House.

- Then she reviewed my N-400 application, checked my passport, green card, etc. and then reviewed my answers to N-400 application one by one.

- After the interview, she told me that she will recommend my application to her supervisor for approval, and told me that I may be able to join the Oath Ceremony mostly in December, but could be in November if there's space.

- Then she finally handed me N-652 with "You passed the tests of English and U.S. history and government." and "A decision cannot yet be made about your application." checked.

2019-11-01 - You attended your interview.

2019-11-01 - We approved your application.

Finally got the oath ceremony scheduled.

Just received the letter today with date of 12/19.

 

One question, does anyone have experience going to the passport agency for the expedited passport appointment?

Because I will have a trip in early January, which I believe going to the expedited passport appointment at the agency is the fastest, which takes at most 8 business days.

Just got notification that my Oath was scheduled... Will post back once I have the date.

I am not on the list. I applied online Feb 2nd, Biometrics were done Feb 26th and today recieved a litter in the mail with my interview scheduled for May 6th. I'm shocked I had been told 13-14 months

hi everyone 

,i had my interview on 10/30 and i passed and i just received notice saying they schedule my oath this morning but then i just checked online for the letter on the document tap. the document they send out is not oath schedule, it says the "oath ceremony got descheduled due to unforeseen circumstances"

Is this normal and does anyone has same situation as me?

i'm in los angeles area

Yes, it’s very easy. Make your appointment soon and take the confirmation Copy of the hotel or flights and show that. My husband and I had plans to travel right after the ceremony so he had the appointment the next day, got it expedited, received the passport card and book a day later.

Would you mind telling me when was your trip? Was it like within 2-3 weeks after your oath ceremony?

And did you make the appointment in advance, before the oath ceremony occurred?

No worries,

 

The trip was that same weekend. The oath ceremony was on a Wednesday and his passport expedite appointment was Thursday. He got his passport at 3PM on Friday. Honestly, we just made a free booking and then cancelled it but just printed out the confirmation. We live in San Diego and all his family is in TJ. He didn’t want to be without access to them. Thank god we did the expedite passport because that Friday his uncle passed away and we had to go to Tijuana right away. 
 

In conclusion, you’ll receive your passport quickly and definitely before traveling. I’m sure we got ours within a day because the reservation was for Saturday.

Nice workaround!! Getting a booking and then cancel right the way at places like Expedia might be a way to get the passport much more quickly.

And there may be cases that the trip was rescheduled or cancelled due to many circumstances.

Hi, all!

I had my citizenship interview on 13th of November and it's been 3 weeks since then without a change in status, even though the officer said that I passed and I should receive an invitation to the oath ceremony in a week or two. 

Don't know what to do, do I keep waiting for a little bit longer or I start calling and ask why is the process delayed?
