Is this email from the NVC considered 'NOA2'? Or if not, then what?

Just got my K1 visa and starting to work on AoS prep already!

The guide on this site says one of the things I'll need to do is "Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-129F". What exactly constitutes NOA2? Is it just the email I had from the NVC beginning:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in London, Great Britain And Northern Ireland. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks......

....and then continuing on to list the case number, USCIS receipt number, etc.....??

Or is it when I got mailed my I-129f back with the big American flag 'approved' stamp on it?

Hard copy of approval is NAO2.

The US petitioner should have received an NOA2 I797 Approval Notice in the mail about 5 to 7 months after the initial NOA1 Receipt Notice from when you filed the original petition. How did you know you were approved otherwise?

What you have posted above is the NVC email. It is not the NOA2 approval notice.

It looks like this. Notice the words Approval Notice in one of the boxes and the first sentence says "The above petition has been approved."

This happens sometimes, we had the same situation last year. We received an email from NVC on feb 6th 2018 that they received our approved case from USCIS and were gonna send it to my local consulate, but we didn't have a NOA2 and the status online was still 'case received'. The good news is, USCIS approved your petition! (not your visa, just your petition)

My now husband called USCIS cause we didn't get NOA2, they confirmed petition was approved and they created a case. A few days later he got an email that they could not resend NOA2, but that our petition was approved and if we needed evidence of that approval we could use that email. About 1 week later our case status online changed to approved and about 2 weeks later we received our NOA2 hardcopy in the mail. Apparently the mailing of the NOA2 was just super backed up, nothing to worry about. Just let the petitioner call USCIS and they'll usually help you out

Sorry, just realized you already have your K1 lol. If you never received the hardcopy of NOA2 you can request an inquiry online or your wife (she's the USC right?) can call them and ask them like I stated in my previous answer.

Aah yes I remember seeing this, I think she does have it somewhere, tho good to hear it's probably not essential if we don't have it any more 👍
