Just when I thought we only had one more obstacle (getting the Hong Kong police certificate in time), I have been reading that my fiance's NBI and CENOMAR might be too old. Her NBI is valid until July 19 and she assumed that is what it means! Her CENOMAR is dated June 29, 2018.

What is the latest? What is the required validity date? Does she have to get new ones or risk a 221g? Her interview is 2/14.

Will she even be able to get a new NBI in time and will they issue a 2nd one despite the expiration date? Ugh.

She will need new ones because the embassy frowns upon those older than 6 months

From the USEM website's list of required documents for interview:

POLICE REPORT. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Philippine police (NBI) clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one year from the date of issuance.

Do they not adhere to their own guidelines/requirements?

Correct .. they don't.     There have been numerous reports from people being asked to get a new NBI because the on they presented as over 6 months old.

How things are done at the embassy in Singapore may not be the same as Manila.

Well, ok then...she will hopefully get new/updated NBI and CENOMAR without much trouble.

I don't know how anyone gets approved without a 221g unless they are reading this site! Glad I found it.

Our NBI was 10 mos. old and was accepted

Good to know. She is going to get a new one I guess. Makes her feel better going in. I'd love her to ask if they would have accepted the old one but probably no point in saying more than one needs to.
