Just dropped ours today. How does the case status change once they receive docs ?

@kvalam, we just dropped our papers today. They didn’t ask for passport. So now what changes can I see when I track ceac site that tells me it’s moving in the right direction ? How long after we submit the documents does status change ? Also when do they ask for passport ?

Hi! When they approve your case they will email or call you to submit your passport. We submitted our 221g on Jan 25th and our ceac changed dates 2 days in a row. Still under AP. Unfortunately our case had a major glitch because they had sent us an email that our passport was ready for pickup on Jan 29 and again Feb 2 but when we would call they would say it's a glitch. So PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to every email and question them! We sent an email on Feb 13 and got a reply on 14th that we did have a packet at the embassy. We went on 15th and there it was the request to submit our passport. We submitted passport on 15th. Our ceac updated 19th 20th and on 21st it changes to Non immigrant and on 22nd it changed to issued. On 25th our passport tracking site changed to being delivered and 26th we picked up our visa.

Had missed to take 2017 tax papers.. I don't know how I missed it.. the co said it's not even available on ceac account so he wanted to see it there... but I can see all 3 years tax papers submitted right today.. god knows....but the co said everything is fine but submit the documents and passport ...which I did right away..

Will the approval notice be an email to both you and your fiance or just one? Will it be an email at all??

The beneficiary will get the email. It's whatever email or phone number you provided on the ds-160.

If you selected delivery then most likely someone will call you. If you chose pick up, you'll get an email.

We did choose to pick up so that is good to know! We are hoping to submit everything on Friday at the latest and hear something by the middle of next week. In the perfect world of course!  @kvalam

Interview was on 11 March at 7:15am.. But had given 221g for documents . submitted them on same day.. on 11th by 3pm.status was showing AP. Today 13th March status changed to issued...

Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well with us! I've been watching my FedEx tracker like a hawk waiting for my notarized letters to arrive. Should be there tomorrow. Perfect world... Everything gets dropped on Friday and we heard about our approval next week. Now is the time to stay strong!
