My fiance is unemployed and we're having problem finding a cosponsor. Should we wait until she has a job to receive letter of employment+paystub to schedule interview, or should we schedule interview anyway and only use latest tax returns and bank statements?

That would be a embassy specific question, Look down the forums in the regional section, and find whatever country the interview is taking place and ask the question there.

Seems as if there is no uniformed answers, and tend to be Embassy /Consualte specific regarding what is needed at interview.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Is she able to sponsor you according to the guidelines without a co-sponsor?  If not, I think you will have to wait until she gets a job.

According to her latest tax returns and bank statement, she is, but I thought you needed to show pay stubs and/or letter of employment as part of those guidelines? She just lost her job in October

I believe she can use assets as well.

Good Luck!

Thanks! And what do you mean by assets? Do you mean if she owns property or a business?

Property, business, bonds, savings, etc.  I am not entirely familiar with that and I think there are different calculations regarding their value, but there may be some that have more experience.

Good Luck!

You are correct.  Without a current and future source of adequate income, sufficient assets, or a qualified, joint sponsor, your immigration is not possible.

You also need to consider how you are going to live for several months before you are able to work. What are the prospects of her finding a job soon? Is her industry actively hiring? Are her skills in demand? If she is likely to be unemployed for some time, you are in for a struggle unless she has substantial savings. Keep your fingers crossed you don't get into an accident or fall ill.
