Did they keep the passport after interview?

In General Consulate of America located in  Guangzhou, they took most documents before the interview(including the passport) at section A. The final interview was arranged at Section B. The officer kept my passport and all photos, then he told me I passed (if visa was denied, they would give back the passport right away),  The interview was successful  and they didn't ask me for any extra documents.

I'm hoping that my visa will be issued this Friday. We've been waiting for this visa for nearly 14 years.  Some time in early of 2005, The moment when we decided to live together In Beijing destined that this journey wouldn't be easy at all. It took  over 3 years to get our case approved by USCIS officer.   Thank you for your warm comment.
