Hey guys. I had my medical done at Knightsbridge today for K1, is there anyone I can PM regarding anxiety/mental health as I’m a little worried about the outcome today.

I don't believe that I have ever heard of that being an issue with regard to approval. Mostly they are looking for communicable diseases and sometimes drug use is an issue. I wouldn't be worried.

Basically I took an overdose over 3 years ago as a one off. I didnt want or need medication or anything and I’ve been good and I’m happy. I still suffer from anxiety which is noted on my GP summery and I got a letter from my GP to say I am not at risk etc but the doctor today has requested another’s letter from my GP asking for more detail about any treatments etc that I had. I already told him I didn’t have any.

no self-harm which he checked my arms for too which he was happy with

I don't think you will have an issue, but I know it's stressful. Found this for you.

Bringing notes from GP is definitely great to do. If they are asking more from you you could always have your GP refer you to a psychologist or psychiatrist who you can talk to and get a more in depth note from. They can go through your GP medical records and talk to you during an appointment and then write a letter to say you are fine. The most important thing the medical is worried about is that you are not a risk to yourself or others and as long as you have a GP note stating that you should be fine. You can PM me if that helps you.

Thank you. I took a note with me from my GP today but he literally has typed 2 sentences 😑 the doctor wanted more information etc. I told him I didn’t want to die at the time it was more a cry for help after being in an abusive relationship and my anxiety has stemmed from that but all in all I am good. I dropped the letter request from the Knightsbridge off at my GPs on the way home so will call tomorrow as I asked for it to be actioned ASAP. I’m just so scared of denial after everything

I don't think you will get denied but yeah a little longer than 2 sentences is probably better. As soon as you get your new letter and send it in things should move forward for you :)

I’ve asked them to fax it straight to them so there aren’t any delays. I am such an overthinker and I have got myself into such a state about it! Thank you so much for your help hopefully things will feel better tomorrow. Apart from that my medical was absolutely fine

It's okay i'm an overthinker too! Just breathe everything will work out :) Just make sure you don't schedule your interview for too close after the medical or if you have scheduled it already maybe push it back some more just so there's enough time for the new letter to get to knightsbridge and for knightsbridge to send your paperwork over the the embassy

It’s 2 weeks from now on the 21st so I’m hoping it’s enough time. They said to just go to my interview anyway but I would rather my medical was there so we can have the outcome right away. I’ll chase my GP to ensure he does it ASAP

OP there shouldn't be any issues just as long as you give Knightsbridge what they request.

OP, I have seen a LOT of mental health worries go through Knightsbridge over the years. There have been cases quite severe with physical scarring They all got visas.

Some are asked for more more information from the GP. It can be a little delay. So what? This isn't a race. Yes you can attend your interview without the medical being there.

The worst case scenario, when there was nothing clear to ease the mind of the Knightsbridge doctor, was the applicant having to return to Knightsbridge and speak to a psychiatrist. The clinic just wants somebody else to say you're okay so they don't take the sole blame if they clear a future maniac or mass shooter type to immigrate. I'm sure your GP will take care of it just fine.
