Pass interview for IR-1/CR1, Visa good till after my baby born but my passport will expire in July 2019

Timeline

I went to interview with my husband and get success interview.  we will get visa next week

i am 8 months pregnant and we will delivery our baby here in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. But my passport will expire on July 2019. My plane to leave to US is middle February. Will it be ok for me traveling with my passport that will expire in 5month? Please help!

I think you can because you am going to immigrate, not travel, but to be honest, you may consider to renew your passport at Cambodia. Doing so, you will not need to do it while you are in US (which may be more costly and more complicated).

Check with your airline directly.  

 

If you can start things now to renew the passport, I would.  You'll have peace of mind that way no matter what.

02/12/21: Delivered to Phoenix, AZ

03/22/21: Money order cashed

03/24/21: Text notification rec'd

03/25/21: NOA rec'd

04/30/21: Case updated: Fingerprints taken

06/27/22: Approved!  Card being produced!

07/05/22: 10-year GC in hand!

Problem is my passport can not renew twice and now it’s time to make new one if I want it valid longer. 

It’s really stressing me a lot.😓

There should not be anything problem with your passport at US custom (old or new),  your visa is the most important.  My uncle does not even have passport but just U.S. Re-entry Permit and he travels very frequently between his native country and US.

Yes even if your old passport was expired. Your new passport will be your travel document.
