Hello everybody.

Im a Senegalese guy living in Casablanca. I have applied for the CR1 visa and i have been interviewed on July 31st 2018.

During the interview, the CO asked me several questions which i answered all. After that, they kept my passport and i have told that some verifications was needed towards my marriage certificate.

On August 7th . i've got a call from the consulate to come do my finger prints. When i got there i met the CO again and she said that all the verifications were done and that the visa is approved then maybe after 2 weeks i can get a notification from Aramex to pickup my passport.

I know that the consulate was closed for the eid el kbir holidays so i sent them an email on august 28th to check on my status but no answer until today.

I would like to know if it is normal  ?  Im worrying because the status of my visa on NVC hasn't changed (still ready for interview). The last update of the case is august 14th.

If someone can help me or give me advice , i would be very thankful.

Thank you .

Have a good night / day.

Hi there, we just got out of administrative processing for my husbands greencard. Everything was fine at the interview but they said they needed to verify our marriage certificate and would call us in a few days. We were in administrative processing for 65 days. I think Casablanca is just very very slow. Since they have you passport it is a good sign, also good that they called you to come back. I wouldn't be worried from my experience with them - but it may take longer than they told you it would. Just keep checking our status on CEAC: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

You are welcome! Just keep faith, I know it is sooooooo hard, I couldn't believe how long it took to verify our marriage certificate when I did it myself, and got extra copies in a week (From the Seychelles which is in the middle of nowhere!) It doesn't sound like you will be rejected, its only time you need.

never updated ours to issued until adil was here almost a year

u did biometrics and was told to pick up passport at aramex / this is the way an approved passport and packet for POE (do not open) are handled

casa is not slower than any other embassy when additional security checks are needed / they are all done thru Homeland Security

u r from a different country so of course u needed additional security check

congraulations

Yes - Just make sure to check Aramex soon after your status changes to Issued - they will not notify you in any other way that your passport is ready. I think average AP processing for Casa is 2-3 months but every case is different of course.
