I'm on the phone with USCIS right now.

 

The operator is telling me USCIS doesn't send out NOA I-797 by mail that all they do is send out electronic notifications via email to let us know the case was accepted or not. (Wrong wrong wrong) sheesh where to they hire these people? 

 

I told her I want to elevate this call to a Tier-2 officer and she is arguing with me that she doesn't need to elevate this call because I am wrong about it. 

 

We filed ROC 9/17/18, check cashed 9/24/18, Email with receipt number received 9/24/18, but still no letter in the mail as of November 5th. 

 

Operator put me on hold. Let's hope she doesn't hang up us on. 

 

Update: Officer Riviera came on the line, said he has the receipt number and then....- phone disconnected.

Yes I received 2 noa Lool the first one month after filed and the second 1 week later the same letter and 1 eeek later I received my fingerprints appointment letter

You can use the GE lane, the Kiosk won't work and will gave you and X but you only need to take the receipt and make the normal GE lane. They will send you to another Global entry lane with an officer with computer and they will take your fingerprints and etc as normal.

Got one of USCIS’ “we are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time” automated emails. I was wondering where y’all were seeing those and now I know!

 

I quite like that they ping you from time to time to reassure you that, yes, we haven’t forgotten about you.

Happy Election Day! By 2020, perhaps we will be voting ourselves.

 

Couple things happened today:

 

1. Drivers license renewed. Went for the Real ID one since that seems the way the wind is blowing. DMV knew exactly what the I-797 letter meant, no hassles about my soon-to-expire green card. In and out without an appointment in under an hour.

2. Work asking to re-verify my employment authorization. I figured I'd stand up for myself instead of roll over and point out that, as an LPR, I didn't have to fill out a new I-9. The HR lady went away for a few minutes, called someone, came back and said "Oh, you're right. Thanks." And that was that.

Same case here. Starts with WAC, some said might not need biometric
