Hi all!

I started my application in Malaysia, but since the time is abit tight (I'm due to fly to Canada on August 27), can I do the interview when I'm at Canada?

What will your status be in Canada?

Anyway - this was easy to find: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/nonimmigrants-present-visiting-canada-mexico.html

Please be clear. Are you visiting for a week, au pairing for 6 months, studying for 3 years? Bear in mind this may have an effect on whether or not you are approved as the US embassy will be assessing your risks of overstay in the US.

in any case you have the link, if the timing works for you then apply there.

It's best to apply and interview for a visa in your home country where the CO is familiar with people from your country.

A Malaysian interviewing for a visitor visa in Canada is not a good idea.  The CO will not be familiar with Malaysian circumstances and you are likely to get a denial.

If you choose to apply in Canada, it will be a completely new application -- including payment of the fee again.  You cannot transfer an in-process non-immigrant visa application between embassies.

False, you can interview in another country. You will have to contact the embassy to request an expedite appointment. Then they will tell you what proof you will need for the interview to be conducted.

Lol yeah they most certainly have had their interview. But anyways for anyone who is interested for nex time. And its kinda annoying people coming on here asking and leaving without closure to let everyone know how it went. Thats the only way we can learn and improve.

The chance is that they most likely got denied like what residence of VJ had correctly predicted based on information available or experiences.

The OP question is awfully familiar like this thread,

I did not say you couldn't interview in another country -- I said you would have to pay the visa fee (MRV) fee again.  You cannot have an interview in Canada based on an MRV fee you paid in Malaysia.  And, there is no basis to request an expedited appointment -- in either Malaysia or Canada -- based solely on wanting to keep your personal travel plans.
