@Abies @Saaniya @Rameda... I just called NVC and found out that my case is complete but we’ve got a checklist for my son. Dint get any email from NVC. So glad I called... So they’re telling me that Form i864w is missing in his case. I don’t really understand coz all financial papers for me and my son were the same.. Either the attorney has missed attaching something. Im so upset. Can I do anything till I receive a email from them? How will I have to send the papers? Submit online or mail?

You are fine but they want you to bring the missing financial documents to the Interview

Hey guys!

We submitted AOS and civil documents on August 11th , Today the status changed to NVC , we are waiting for an interview and I hope they schedule it  soon!!!

Does anyone know how long/busy the US consulate in Casablanca is for interviews? Any insight would be really helpful!

NVC just finished scheduling September  interview and @judy karim got their interview for the last business day in sept.

Hopefully she can through more light on this.

So if I am pivot case and she mail thethe documents the nvc what would they do do I still get cc or I have to start over all again and upload documents?

If your case is pivot then you need to upload the documents to CEAC... the quicker the better.

You’re welcome!

And just so you know about Medicals, I wanted to book with Dr. Dennis but the secretary insisted me to book an appointment for blood tests. I called the blood tests clinic and a very rude lady told me it’s a walk in thing. So I called Dennis back again and she wouldn’t take that as an answer..so I went ahead and booked with Dr. Roa, I currently spoke to someone having a physical exam last week with him and all was good and normal. Kinda sad about being unable to book with Dr. Dennis but everything happens for a reason .. ☺️

Thanks so much for the info! I'll make sure my wife knows about this. So do you need two passport pics for the medicals? One for the place where you get blood work and the other for the doctor? What else will you be taking to the medicals? We printed a paper with information such as name, address, etc. My wife doesn't have her vaccination records because they are in Venezuela where she is originally from. I hope the doctor can work with her to get whatever vaccines she needs.

Your question was when she got their interview date post CC right? And my response was 3weeks.

Scheduling of interview has nothing to do with pivot or non pivot. It has to do with the availability of slots your embassy sends to the NVC and then NVC schedules it on a first come first served basis of CC unless you an oversight on the scheduler's part can get you in front of those who got CC before you.

I'm not sure what to tell you on this as I submitted my return with the status of Married Filing Separately after consulting with a tax specialist. I left the SSN/ITIN field blank and the return was accepted. Like I said, you do need to file a paper return when you do this and I did attach a statement explaining the situation.

Have you already filed your taxes and the return was rejected or did the IRS rep give you that information when you called prior to filing? The only other thing I can think of is there may be an issue with your exemptions - did you tick the box to claim an exemption for your spouse? I left that box blank because you can only claim one for your spouse when filing as MFS if your spouse had no gross income, is not filing a return, and isn't someone else's dependent. My husband does have gross income, it just isn't subject to US tax. I believe that if I claimed an exemption for him it could cause a problem.

While I am a CPA, I don't specialize in income tax so I can't formally advise you. Have you considered consulting with a tax specialist? If you qualify for Head of Household, you could do that as well, there are just specific requirements you must meet (for example: you and your spouse can't be living together, you need qualifying dependents, you must be paying >50% of the household expenses. Check all the rules at Publication 501 to make sure you don't choose that status in error: https://www.irs.gov/publications/p501#en_US_2017_publink1000220775).

Good luck!

Thanks so much ! Understand better now.

yes at first I e-filed and did it as “single” since they kept asking for a SSN.

Then when I red that is a red flag with a consular officer, I took the advise from VJ family to amend to avoid issues with spouse petition; so I did the amend and selected MFS.  That’s when they returned it back and ask for spouse SSN

yes I selected the exemption box because my spouse isn’t working, not filing a return, nor can anyone claim him.  Do you think that’s the issue?

The secretary of Dr. Roa will send you an email right after you talk on the phone and sends you all info you need, so i really liked that. It said we needed about 7 in total. I do not have my original vaccination records, i took a picture of them before throwing them away haha, hope they'll accept that 😛 about $350.000 for vaccines but subject to change depending how many we need -.-
