I think Ohio and Michigan fought a war over Toledo and Ohio won.

You have proof that she funneled public school funds from the states into her own pockets?  Sure, she was involved in charter schools, but considering the state of many of our public schools and the money that they burn through, what is wrong with that?  Regardless, as we are told relative to the entire collusion investigation, it is not the outcome that matters, but the actual acts.  These idiots put people's lives in danger, I suppose they deserve a slap on the wrist.

I think you meant "what's wrong with a morally bankrupted billionaire redirecting funds to underperforming forprofit schools."

I never said she did anything illegal.

Possible I guess. I sleep very lightly when I'm on a boat, but maybe you get used to it.

Hopefully no one was being paid to keep watch.

If someone was being paid to watch, they may not have a job today.

I wouldn't discount that someone forgot to tie it up in the first place. Time will tell.

I'll paraphrase an old friend here though, if you can afford 40 million for a yaught, pay the extra few grand for the security system. Hopefully they did that.

Absolutely love your definition of "the swamp"

I have to admit that I know next to nothing when it comes homeschooling. How did she negatively effect these particular students?

While the HSLDA touted her and dealt dirty money under the table, Michigan homeschoolers, and others around the country were less than thrilled by heavily pushing the voucher system. Those homeschoolers that do actually care about education, saw her as many professional educators did - having no experience whatsoever in education - only in being a big lobbyist. Those more libertarian minded homeschoolers, see trading money away from public schools and giving it to private schools (and many for-profit charter schools which homeschoolers may have an even bigger problem with) as still taxation without representation and have huge problems following her money trail. Many of those charter schools were listed as bad or failing in times past. Homeschoolers in other states noted how some were lured away to putting their children in the charter school system, and were met with bad results.. and some went bankrupt. Other parents who opposed Common Core very strongly, felt that Devos was very dishonest about her claims to support them. Ultimately a lot of homeschoolers that inherently distrust the public school system, only see her push for vouchers as a way to line her pockets (and her friends) - while pushing kids from one failing type of school system to another.

meh. i'd rather be ceblatory over loss of personal property (which can be replaced) than ceblatory when a life is lost.

Wow, that is absolutely disgusting.

Maybe you meant celebratory perhaps

Not celebratory at all. Casualty insurance losses are shared by all the consumers in the insurance group. Devos may own the 40 million dollar yacht, but now we are all paying for it. That's why I really hope it was the staff's negligence that led to this, and not the Amish as you suggested. Negligence would negate the insurance claim.

Why are you trying to deflect from her short comings?
