Look at @debbiedoo post.

Well we still don't have anything in our names together as husband and wife due to the fact that she's in USA and I'm in Nigeria aside for our marriage certificate

We don't share joint bank accounts. Don't have any joint ownership. We have been together for 2 years. Married a few months. Lived together for one year in a home that was paid for by my husbands work.

You dont have to be married to have each other listed on wills and as power of attorneys.

open a joint bank account.  add each other to credit accounts. list as bank account beneficiaries.

i would suggest you find as much as you can to list each other on financially as possible. especially for the one whose husband is in nigeria.

Such affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of file; skip it in favor of evidence (you are submitting evidence, not proof) of time spent together in-person (which you have plenty of).  If you ultimately chose to submit the affidavit, it does not need to be notarized.
