Which country?

If you've been traveling without problems then you should be fine even though you've started k1, read a few of the posts above and you'll see its very rare to get a problem.

I am canadian so I don't need vise to visit us. So if we apply to k1, you say I still can visit? And if officer directly asks if any visa pending for me, should I say truth and even take copies of docs with me or not say about k1?

Always tell the truth if asked

Yes, always tell the truth.

I don't believe they have access to anything that says you've applied for k1. I'm from UK so was visiting on ESTA... I visited a couple of times during k1, no problems at all. The question wasn't even asked - they just asked purpose of visit (vacation) and where I'd be staying (Wilmington, NC). What will you be doing (some time on beach, bars, bit of touring, etc). They never asked who I would be staying with, but if they had, I'd have told them honestly. Don't say "a friend" or even "boyfriend" if its a fiance. Honesty is key - lies might affect your future k1... the truth will not.

I always brought my k1 folder with me just in case. If the immigration officer was concerned about me visiting my fiancee, I'd point out that I had no intention of overstaying since I'd spent a lot of time and money doing things properly with a k1. If you read this thread you'll find this is a very convincing and reassuring thing for immigration officers. They probably appreciate the honesty too - if you were intending getting married during the trip, you'd probably completely lie about who you were visiting and why.

Hi my name is Cassie and I am brand new here. I just mailed off the I-129F yesterday, so everything is just now starting for my fiance and I. We're only on baby-step 1 (F)(L)

I am enjoying reading these posts already!

I was glad to find this topic because it was going to be my first question!

I have an additional question pretty similar to this one, but with a tad of a twist. I am the one inviting my fiance here to the U.S., but I was going to go visit him in Korea only for the month of June, just to see his family and all, and visit more of South Korea. We've petitioned for him to enter the U.S. and marry here. So, during the Fiance Visa process, is it possible for me to visit him in Korea?

Thank you so much! I think I'm really going to enjoy reading about all of your journeys.

God bless and hope to hear back from someone(s!)

-Cascadia. (Cassie)

Just began a 4 week visit with my fiancee. My POE was Fort Lauderdale.

I was asked one question, When are you leaving the US?. I answered, was fingerprinted, photo taken and that was it. Stamp Stamp.

It was really busy and I was in the queue for about 30 mins, don't know if that had any effect. I was certainly relieved.

Fiancée just came in via Dulles airport. We are already through NOA2, with K1 in transit to embassy. She has a B1 valid through September of next year. USCIS was very friendly, just asked her if she had been here before. Asked if we met in the city she lives in currently. Cracked jokes with her. Etc. Very low stress and very easy.

Hi, can anyone tell me what I can take as evidence of ties to my country other than employment and property/rent? As I am planning on leaving my country behind we are currently working on getting rid of all my ties to the UK, my house is on the market and will be sold by the time I come to travel, and I will be living with my parents until the visa is approved. I already gave up my job to spend 3 months with my SO before we put the visa app in so I won't have anything! We'll be on NOA2 when I come to travel. Is there anything I can do?

Can you get a rental agreement from your parents?

Everytime I travelled to the USA from the UK during our K1 process they never asked for evidence but I took it just in case. They most important thing you need is proof of a return flight, so make sure you have that to hand. Im sure a rental agreement from your parents and proof of a return flight would be sufficient.

I never thought of that! Thank you! I'm sure my parents would be happy to do that for me.

I didn't take any ties to the UK as I really didn't have any at all. I know everyone is different and every airport is different but all I had was my return ticket and my chance to explain we were doing things the correct way and have no intentions of breaking their laws or disrespecting their country.

They didn't even ask me. They just asked the usual questions. How long I was staying, why I was visiting... you know the usual. Never asked to see my return ticket either.

Some people don't have ties to the UK especially when they are planning on leaving the country for good.

Good idea about the rental agreement! even if it is just a simple letter that says you will be residing with them until you K1 process is complete and you leave the UK.
