After getting notified and receiving your NOA2 send an email to NVC asking for them to email both you and your fiancé if any updates occur. In the past they have replied when your case was received from USCIS, another when your case number has been assigned and when your case is being sent out to your Embassy without you having to make any further queries by phone. Here is where you send this information to:

Email address: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Subject: Your receipt #

Body: Petitioner's Complete Name Birthday ; Beneficiary's Complete Name Birthday

Or use the online form

https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php

This worked! I sent the email as you stated over the weekend and I received updates today.

Call them, don't wait too long

My case was 'being ignored' too, and when we called after a month we got to hear it was sent back to the USCIS

NVC received my case on August 16, case number was assigned on August 17. Do you know the batch numbers they send out yesterday? Mine is not even a week yet after Case number was assigned on August 17

Does anyone know what is in packet 3/ what you have to send back from the consulate in Amsterdam? I want to have everything ready to send it back as soon as possible but I can’t find it anywhere.

There is no way to know the "batch numbers" sent. But, you can do a little investigative work on your own by searching DHL for packages that have left NVC and on their way to all the Embassy's. You won't know for certain if yours is in the mailing but will give you and idea if a package is on the way to your Embassy.

Go to www.dhl.com click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to Manila then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Manila / Works for any Country

Once you get your case number from NVC do the follow where you can go ahead and schedule the medical (I did). You can't schedule your interview until the case reaches the consulate. They'll send you P3; then you have to send the form to request an appointment back together with the confirmation page of the DS160 and a copy of your passport. After that you will get an email from them which gives you access to the digital appointment system where you can schedule (and pay) your appointment You schedule the medical with Dr Schulte and they will schedule you for the X-ray. You're supposed to go to the medical first and then go straight to the X-ray clinic.

You do not need the VOG translated, at the bottom is a little bit in English that is good enough.

Your birth certificate should be an international birth certificate. This has, among Dutch, also English, French German ect on it. If you have that international one you do not need to have it translated. Your gemeente will know what you need when you tell them you need an international one.

Ohhh. WOuld you say approx 10 days prior to the interview is too early?

No it's not too early. Your personal choice when to have the medical completed should be calculated on how much time you will need to leave your country once you have received your visa. If you will leave soon after, no big deal to do it a month ahead or 10 days. If you want more time to hang around in your country then the closer to the interview is best. I think your choice of 10 days is perfect. But beware your mileage may vary.

I'm pretty sure that it means that you need to enter the US within 6 months of medical, potentially accounting for the 90 days before the wedding. Once you get married, it doesn't matter anymore. Maybe I'm confused.

When you get your visa look for the validity date and that is the last day you can enter the US legally before the K-1 visa expires. The validity has nothing to do with the 90 days. 90 days is only the requirement to get married to satisfy the visa you are entering the US on.

Just wondering. Does it mean that once I come to the US on K1 with validity say of one year and apply for Green card, I would have to leave once 1 year finishes even though i am waiting for my green card application to be approved?

 Thank you in advance.

Based on the validity date of your visa, check your passport and review the visa once your interview is completed and you have received your passport from your Embassy and that date is the last date you can enter the country on your K-1 visa. After expiration date the visa or the day you process at your POE your K-1 visa is DEAD. When you pass through immigration they will stamp your passport with a "551" stamp that allows you to remain in the US while processing your marriage and the AOS.
