Wet case filing? You mean the package is damaged by water? The parent(s) have to attend the interview now when sponsored by son/daughter. I think we should have the option to go to San Antonio, Austin or Dallas if it is quicker. Can they ask for more funding from the Feds? The Gears road is the new location I am sure they spent a lot to build that one.

Yes, I believe she meant that paper case files that were damaged by water during the Harvey flooding were, for some reason, shipped to Oklahoma. She said that during that time some people were invited to interview in Oklahoma. Then they shipped all the files all back to Houston to continue processing.

Houston residents had to go to OK for interview?

My PD for I-130 is 6/9/11

I-130 approved 5/19/14.

10/4/17 RD: I-485A & I-765.

11/6/17 Biometrics completed. How do I know the results of biometrics?

4/30/18 RFIE: Birth Certificate with English  Translation.

7/19/18: RFIE received by USCIS.

7/31/18: Case is ready to be scheduled for interview. Does this mean my RFIE document was satisfied? Less chance of my getting another RFIE/RFE for same/another document?

8/8/18: New Card is being produced (I-765).

8/9/18: Case was approved (I-765). When will they mail my EAD?

I-693 was done in June of 2017. Do I have to re-do TB skin test again and pay the full fees one more time?

Some did. I think she was saying that USCIS gave them the option of interviewing in OK sooner or waiting until later to do it in Houston.

Another reason why I don't see why they can't give us the OPTION to go elsewhere for ours.

It's really not acceptable that some people get a GC in 3 months and others 2 years. Like what??

I agree.

We would jump at the chance to fly somewhere for an interview now rather than wait another year just for the opportunity to open a case inquiry.

Another way to help is to MOVE. Move to some places that are much quicker , like Ohio , MT...

otherwise, have to wait :(

If you move. It means you have to do change of address. Doesn’t that take time?

I think it’s noteworthy that the lower number (18.5 Months) only goes up.  It’s supposed to be the time that 50% of cases are taking to adjudicate, but I think there are shenanigans.

There should be a mix of applications that are quick to process with applications that take longer due to complexity, errors, etc. As others have noted, there doesn’t seem to be a single person who applied after mid-April 2017 for a family-based AOS in Houston that has received an interview or green card.  March and early-April filers were getting green cards steadily until several months ago, but then nothing. I have a feeling that The Houston FO changed priorities and just stopped taking new applications off the stack for processing. So, since the only applications being processed are the complex ones that Houston started processing in 2016, the 50% number hews closer to the 95% number each time the report is updated.

If I’m right, then the report is really worthless as a gauge of how much longer we can expect to wait. We will wait until the Houston FO decides to start processing applications again (or until we move to another city).

I believe it’s because they have moved over to a backlog in work based interviews, since they are now required to interview as well, I believe. More applications to sift through due to increasing requirements, same amount of employees.

Someone had InfoPass and they said that the Houston office is interviewing January 2017.

They can’t ask for more funds through Feds so they can hire more people and expand hours of operation?

It’s the government. Are you surprised. Are you really surprised? Things get enacted before they can adjust. We just gotta wait it out, y’all. ✌🏼
