defanged or not... thats crazy to let a baby near a cobra... what if it thinks ALL cobras are ok to play with???

and on another note, much less important than the snake, but still odd... the kid is wearing a shirt but no diaper or pants?????

I think that's a regional thing. Not all cultures swaddle babies in layers of rubberware.

i just find it odd that if you are gonna cover only one half of your baby, you would opt to choose to put on a shirt rather than even a cloth diaper to cover the end that spews pee and poop... but then again, that might be one of the reasons why hepatitis A is a problem in other areas of the world

and ooooo... i never knew:

Myth:

Removal of fangs makes snakes harmless.

Reality:

This is not true as snakes constantly shed and re-grow their fangs.

wait so Charles, cobra fangs grow back? Crazy...

yes. for example - i had a rattlesnake as a "pet" once in the mid 80's. she hit a mouse and the mouse took longer to die than normal, so after she ate the mouse, i caught her and examined her. turned out her fangs had stuck in the mouse when she struck. the next morning, about 10 hours later, i caught her and checked and she had new fangs.

most snakes have replacement sets of fangs. that's why i said defanging is a temporary measure. you can get the poison sack surgically removed but being poked by fangs is still irritating :P

I just saw this, or what little I could stomach, this morning. ####### What happens if that baby is out somewhere and sees a snake in the wild?!

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I own 3 snakes, and a friend has a cobra with the poison sacks removed that I've held a few times. The cobra still likes to strike just like the one in the video and it scares the bejeezus out of me every time. That baby is braver than I am. I don't have kids, and if I do someday have a baby, I don't know if I'll keep my snakes. They are all non-venomous, but they are constrictors and that is just too scary to have around babies. Those parents are a bit crazy in my eyes, but to each his own...I suppose...
