If you compare the monthly immigrant issuances data from Feb 2020 vs Feb 2021, the aggregate total visa issuances for Montreal post has only decreased by ~7%. The main change is that majority of the cases processed are for IR and CR. So, this is not a visa post personnel capacity issue because of COVID.

Great analysis.

Thats a good sign.

Seems like they just need to rebalance the slot allocation.

May be in a couple of months, they’ll fully catch up with IR CR case load.

The bad news is that, looking at the family catagory, It took exactly 3 months to move DQ from 19-May to 15-Aug. They are balanced. where is room for us?

OK, so I did some more analysis on the Montreal visa issuance numbers pre and post pandemic.

Below is the chart.

image.png.9ba5e0cd72a47c631f30ec44abf7be1f.png

Observations-

1. Montreal is back to full processing capacity as of February 2021.

2.  Most of that capacity is going towards IR/CR.

3. Pre- pandemic, on an average -

  • IR/CR share of processing capacity 42%
  • EB share of processing capacity 18%
  • FB share of processing capacity 31%

Hopefully, we start seeing some interviews in Summer/Fall.
