  1. Following up on my previous note: Picked the passports up from CanadaPost today, was available Friday…so basically less than a week after the interview date.
  2. Awesome! Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the speed. Had it shipped to the Post Office close to us (trying to reduce the number of stops/transfers). It’s already arrived, however we are on a pre-arranged trip so couldn’t pick it up today, will collect it when we’re back on Monday!
  3. I did it exactly 2 weeks before the interview with Dr. Mascarenhas. Results were sent electronically to the consulate within 8 calendar days.
  4. Awesome! So glad that you were able to get the rescheduled interview date soon enough! Status switched to issued the same day (for spouse next day) and got notification of being dispatched to courier today (so 2 days after). Will keep you posted when I actually receive it. All the best!
  5. Note: Present and former residents of the United States do NOT need to submit any U.S. police certificates. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html
  6. Thanks! No, in fact they have explicitly stated that you don’t need a PCC from the US (I forgot where they mentioned that but I’ve seen that note for sure).
  7. Happy to share that I had the interview this morning and the officer said I will be approved. Hoping to receive the passports soon. Overall very smooth process, consulate staff were courteous, officer was great! Same questions that everyone has shared earlier: Workplace, Role, Company etc and some general questions about education and previous trips to the US. Documents request was nothing outside of the usual, all the standard docs listed on the Montreal specific page: Birth certificate, Police Certificate, Marriage/Divorce etc. Thanks all in the forum for keeping the convo going and the last 28 months since DQ (June 2020) were definitely not easy but became easier and more predictable based on experiences shared here. Wish you all the best, thanks!
  8. Sorry to hear about the extra wait here @topman. I pray that you hear back soon and everything turns out great for you. Hang in there, hats off to you. Thanks so much for sharing the detailed experience as well as for going through the process of reading through all and compiling for the benefit of everyone else here. Really wishing the best for you!
  9. Hi @topman. Hope your interview went well! Appreciate your experience/tips as I prepare to interview in 3 weeks. Thanks!
  10. Thanks a lot, all the best to you both for the next steps! I hope it works out great!
  11. No worries about May, looks like they are catching up folks! June 10, 2020 DQ and I just got my IL! Thank God! Interview Scheduled for October 18 in MTL. Thanks everyone for your support and keeping this thread going, based on the post above, looks like MTL is finally going to leapfrog on EBs and clear the backlog pretty soon. Best of luck to all! P.S. CEAC status still at NVC, IL received at 10:18pm PST.
  12. I agree, info shared online and in the instructions seem very counter intuitive but it looks like that might be the way to go, i.e. wait for the interview date to pass and email them the very next day requesting to reschedule. I believe we had Era101 earlier who did that and were able to get a date the following month. I’d be so nervous doing that though, such a counter-intuitive way to request a reschedule AFTER the date has passed.
  13. Thanks for that update! Is there anything specific you/your attorney is expecting to happen this week? EB IL’s usually come in at the tail end of the month and the last one came in on Aug 2.
