Hi everyone just wanted to ask something. Can me and boyfriend file for a fiance visa even if our relationship is in early stage like 8 months of being together.

it wont matter as long as you can provide all proves of bonafide relationship yes you can do it.

i.e. meet each other within 2 years. etc etc

Good luck :)

Yes. Trust me a lot of people on VJ will tell you that you technically can. That as long as you meet the requirements and that you both have met and can prove that you have met within the last two years, you can apply for K1.

Personally, I knew my (future-)hubby for 5 months before we met in person. Wanted to file the petition 7 months into our relationship, had to postpone it for 2 more months due to various reasons. Fastforward 8 months, we are almost one year and 8 months into our relationship and I have my K1 Visa on hand.

Do note that I come from a low-to-no-fraud country.

Thank you! :) Your personal experience gave me a lot of confidence . Tbh, I am from a 3rd world country (the Philippines) to be exact but I think it doesn't matter as long as we have proof that our relationship is real.

In short, yes. If you meet all the requirements you can. If you should is another question that we can not answer for you. You need to be sure that this is who you want to be with for the rest of your life.

It's great that you will finally be meeting each other. That is the first, most important step. How long will your fiancé stay with you?

Have you ever been to the United States? It is a very different culture than what you are used to. Its not just deciding whether this is the man you want to marry, its also making sure you know you can live in his culture and his country. Have you met his friends and family? Often you get a different view of someone once you get to know the people around him.

My fiancé and I met online and it took us about a year before I flew over to meet him. I thought I knew he was the one, else I wouldn't have made the trip, but I needed to be sure before I could call him my boyfriend. It was love at first sight when I landed. Even though we had been 'dating' for a year online he officially asked me to be exclusive while I was there. We met twice for three weeks before we filed the petition but had been chatting and calling daily for almost two years at that time.

In my opinion, talking about marriage before you two have even met face to face is a little naïve. I agree with Chris Duffy that chatting online and actually meeting each other is a totally different thing. Don't underestimate it and listen to your feelings. Don't push on if you have doubts. Meet first, see how things work out, and decide then if this is worth pursuing.
