Traveling to Canada while waiting for Travel Document

My Wife received her Work Document a week ago. There's a 1st Communion in Canada for a family member and a group of us are going. My Wife would love to go but She's still waiting for her Travel Document. Is their anything We can do in order for her to go? Thanks.

I'm assuming she is going through AOS.

She can go fine. The issue is coming back, as well as abandoning her AOS. If she leaves without AP, she very likely won't be let back in, and her AOS will be abandoned.

 

If her AP is approved but not in hand, technically she can leave. She would still need to wait until the AP arrives and for somebody to send it to her abroad.

Usually they issue a combo card...I would first check to ensure if her card says "SERVES AS I-512 ADVANCE PAROLE". If so, then it's a combo card and she's good to go.

For Advanced Parole what could I do? Also I failed to mention something that presents another challenge, the trip is 2 weeks away.

If she would normally need a visa to enter Canada then AP is not enough. She still would need a visa.

There is nothing you can do. If there was some kind of emergency, you could  - try - to expedite AP, but clearly it is not. So you might be out of luck.

First communion is not an emergency, so AP can not be expedited. 

Here are the choices if she does not have AP in hand;

 

1.  Don't go.

2.  Go without AP, abandon the AOS, file for spousal visa.

3.  Go with approved AP but not in hand, and risk that there are no errors on the AP.  If there's an error, then she might not be allowed back in.

 

Does your wife have a valid visa to visit Canada?
