I sent out mine May 9th and it was received May 11th. Still haven't heard anything yet. Based on what I've read so far, it will probably take another few weeks.

Question: I will be moving in a week or so, if I change my address online with USCIS, will the NOA1 be sent to the updated address or will it still be sent to the one on the application?? That would be really bad... anyone had similar situations? Many thanks!

I mailed my petition around the 11th of May and it was received on the 14th of May. The NOA was sent to me on May 30th (received on June 4).

With regards to your mailing address: If you gave USCIS your old address, they will mail it to your old address. It would be a good idea to send them a Change of Address form, though I'm not sure if they will be able to update your information in time.

To prevent any missed mail, contact your local post office and sign up for mail forwarding (you may be able to do it online as well).

Hi all,

Happy to report that CSC has gotten their stuff together and May checks are being cashed! We submitted 5/1, received 5/1, and check has been cashed as of 6/6

Happy to second this - our check has been cashed today as well.

Definitely agree with what CharFab said on the address issue.

We moved twice during the 2 years, and never changed address with USCIS. However we did USPS change of address (mail forwarding) each time we moved. So we got our 120 day reminder notice at our new address, it was returned to USCIS from the post office, and USCIS resent it to our new address they got from the mail forwarding.

So long story short, do USCIS change of address as well as USPS mail forwarding; this way you won't miss your important mails. You are able to do both online, USPS will charge you $1 though, USCIS is free.  :D

Also, you're required to file AR-11 within 10 days for the foreign spouse/immigrant, so make sure you do that. USCIS makes it a less than a minute process online, and you can print the receipt for your records.

Also bear in mind if you're the US national sponsor, you need to also file form I-865 for yourself to report a change of address for yourself because you filled out form I-864. You're on the hook to file I-865, just as the immigrant must file AR-11, until an exceeding amount of time has passed (40 quarters of work), becomes a US citizen himself/herself, dies, surrenders or otherwise loses permanent residency gained through your sponsorship via I-864.

the annoying part is is you have to physically mail I-865 in whereas AR-11 can be done online. However its free, and the turnaround was 1 day from receipt to issuing a notice.
