There is zero right to protest while on someone else dime.

Odd this never came up the 100's of times players have been fined for wearing unauthorized clothing or acting out in such a wat on the field to bring discredit.

I don't get where you are coming from..

The NFL routinely allows the players to take a knee in protest.

So they clearly have a right to protest.

That is the (in my opinion poor) choice of the NFL. It shows a lack of respect for their customers and their customers are leaving as a result. They could have done the opposite had they wanted to and there isn't anything the players would have been able to do about it. Protesting on the job is not a right. It is a privilege which may or may not be granted by your employer.

Of course, that was a point in my first post.

You don't agree with the protest so you think the NFL shouldn't allow it.

That's not honoring the 1st amendment.

One of the general rules in running a successful business is not to piss off your customers, I would imagine NFL have learnt this.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The NFL has such a large customer base.

Whatever decision they make will be pissing off at least one demographic.

The NBA doesn't have this problem.

Yet, the players protest ALL of the time.

Their ratings with the younger generation are much great than that of the NFLs, so they are projected to eventually knock the king off the hill sometime in the future.

I do not remember ever anybody making a fuss over Basketball, or seen bumper stickers etc, now NFL and Broncos is different.

I did go to a Pro Basketball game once, once was enough.

The NBA has a more liberal policy when it comes to player expression.

Their fanbase is also younger so the fans put a higher value on this individual expression.

You keep saying this without backing it up. The first amendment doesn't apply when you are on the job. Your employer can choose to grant you the privilege of protesting but it is not a right. A right is something that is inherent and you don't have to have permission to exercise it. A privilege requires permission. I don't know how I can make this concept more clear.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if your employees are essentially urinating on the flag that's not gonna be good for business. The NFL's ratings confirm that.

Just because the NFL is honoring these player's choice to protest in a non violent way and some snowflakes doesn't like it doesn't mean that the NFL is showing lack of respect for the customer. It just means that some customers got their feelings hurt and now they're blaming the NFL.

Customers are entitled to not support businesses in a non violent way.

And that is their right. But the company is not disrespecting them. I am avoiding brands that uses GMO. Do I feel that those companies are disrespecting me? No. It is their choice to use GMO products and my choice not to support them. Neither of us are being disrespected.

So Starbucks calling the Police to boot out Customers because they were black was not disrespectful?

I think you have missed the entire point here. The NFL players are kneeling for the exact reason why the whole Starbucks thing is racist. They are kneeling because of the racism in this country, the way they are treated by cops in this country etc. NFL is not being disrespectful to their customers.
