Vaccines Needed?

Can anyone tell me what shots/vaccines are needed?  I have a doctors appointment May 15th with my GP and would like to get them done now rather than later on in Montreal.

that would be decided if you have certain records of what you already had, country or region specific and or age.

Assuming you're 18-64, you only need Tdap, MMR, and varicella (if you never had chickenpox). Check the table at the bottom of the CDC's technical guide for age-specific requirements.

I did the same as you.  My doctor gave me the shots last week. For the 18-64 age group you need tetanus diphtheria, measles mumps rubella, and varicella if you haven't had chicken pox.  I had chicken pox so that wasn't needed.  Good luck!

Thanks Mike.  I've had the tetanus one a few years ago, and i had chicken pox as a kid alreay so that one isn't needed.  Just have to see about the MMR one.  Thanks again

Quick question.

 

I'm a British Citizen living in Canada, do the same vaccinations apply? Also does anyone know how much tdap/mmr costs in Ontario and are either covered by OHIP?

Yes same apply.  Depending on your age and previous vaccination history they could be free.

I'm in Northern Ontario and had my Tdap vaccine last year and i was not charged for it.

So you can just walk into a clinic and these vaccinations would be done for free ?

I got mine done at my Doctor's office so not really sure if you can get them at a clinic or not sorry.

Health clinic.  Call for an appy.  They make require proof that you need them (aka a titre test that shows you do not have immunity.)
