Only with a warrant, or are you ignoring the 4th Amendment?

i think you're trying to make this way more difficult than it needs to be. this sort of thing would be a breeze to enact in a state like virginia, where there's income tax. i'm sure some rich people will always be tempted to cheat and pay less. some of them are very entitled and feel their wealth sets a part from everyone else. see the op's mention of the wealthy being more inclined to ignore traffic laws, as if they don't apply to them.

I’ll bet if we’re put on a ballot for a vote, the measure you propose wouldn’t pass.

Doesn't mean the departments responsible for traffic violations have warrantless access to it.

Here if you have 3 speeding tickets in a year you’ll have your license suspended. I doubt there is any state that allows unlimited moving violations as long as you pay the fine. So the rich aren’t getting a free pass. They will have their license suspended just like everyone else.

Really not kidding here. They'd get a ticket (if it was a street legal vehicle.. if not then they'd impound.. but ran out of tow trucks), part ways, go around the corner and get ticketed again. Does the state have the right to suspend a foreign license? Highly doubt a single one of these people felt threat from the police. They simply could not cope, and never can. If you have thousands of people swarm the streets there's little they can do to begin with. They only managed to arrest under 100 people last year, most of these vehicles could simply smoke a cop car in the dust.

BTW: A lot arrested were repeat offenders. They simply return every year to participate and enjoy the thrill of it.

yeah, it's not me missing the point. if you break the law and are issued a ticket, you lose the privilege to keep your income a secret.

But you shouldn’t have to prove your immigration status. Priceless.

Correct, and so for every traffic violation, a prosecuting attorney would have to apply for a warrant to get access to these private and privileged records.  That wouldn't clog up the courts at all.

no, when you pay a fine on a traffic violation - there is no prosecuting attorney. you waive that right and pay a fine instead.

Not to mention every citation would be challenged, except by the poor of course since they couldn’t afford to hire an attorney or miss work.

But someone has to make sure the proper fine is being paid.  Then there are out-of-state and foreign issues a locality would have to deal with.  Not as easy as you think.

I must have you mixed up with someone else. You have never mentioned gun laws or changing them. You are in favor of existing laws and think they are fair. You believe the Second Ammendment still applies today as it was written 250 years ago.

If im going to pay by my income, I’m going to have to prove it to someone.

exactly, rich people have the means to challenge and get out of their consequence.

sure, and you can hire a lawyer and refuse to disclose your income, plead your case and the judge will decide what the punishment is. for elitists who have the time/resources to waste just avoid owning up to their 'personal responsibility', i hope its normally hours and hours of unpaid community service.
