I-751 CSC Processing Time

Maybe it's just me, but the site has ALWAYS said Sept 22, 2016 for me.  I didn't start checking until around Feb 15, 2018 myself, granted I just filed last month, but it's always been the same date and year so far.  Seeing as processing times take over a year at both service centers, I guess I"m not seeing the issue.  If the wait time was only 6 months which a Sept 2017 date would indicate, there wouldn't be this massive backlog problem there is now.  If it did say 2017 yesterday, then someone input an error and then fixed it.

So, would it be wise to apply for citizenship before we get our new green card? I just sent the csc my application on Jan. 31st 2018...

I'm sure there's probably a thread on this somewhere but I imagine you folks might know.

What's the deal with naturalization and how quickly after marriage can we apply? I arrived on a K1 visa in December 2015, married the same month. I was always under the impression I had to be married and in the country for 5 years before applying for citizenship but the number of people filing I-751 and N400 at the same time has me questioning this. Anyone with any answers?

Thanks.

If you are married to a us citizen you can apply 3 years after you got your gc. If you came here on a work visa or other visas you can apply after 5 years

Hello everyone - We were just wondering if any CSC filers have any updates regarding their case status?

We have not seen any changes to our case since February (the online notice telling us that the case was moved to the local center). Did not get any notice in the mail and when asked the immigration worker regarding the status of our case at USCIS when we went to have the I-55 stamp on passport, he was very short and curt: there are no changes to your case, you will have to wait and we will reach out to you via mail. This was back in March! Also called the tire 1 and asked to talk with a tire 2 person regarding the status of our case and he told me there's no tire 2. And that he is the person to talk to if I want to make any changes to the case ( which I didn't). We have not applied for naturalizations since we did not get a notice in the mail that we are eligible to apply. We want to make sure that we have the green card before applying for the next step. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

CSC January 2017 filers are starting to get approved. The notice you got in February was meaningless, almost everyone got that message and it didn't affect 99% of the cases. Everything is being processed slowly at CSC with bigger delays all the time.

I see you are a March 2017 filer. You still have several more months to wait, unfortunately. I don't think they send any kind of notice that you can apply for naturalization - you just have to meet the criteria and then you can apply anytime.

I've forgotten all about my ROC, now.   I don't even think about it when I check my mailbox.  I am on government orders overseas so there is no way to even check my status online and I am NOT calling their helpline!!!!     What a joke.

Aren't you eligible to apply for US citizenship while overseas on government orders and skip the whole ROC?

Yes!    I didn't realise until I was too close to the ROC window to do anything about it.  LOL oh well!    I could apply now and have them adjudicate both at the same time but I'm reluctant to give USCIS any more money right now and I'm not really in any rush, going to be in Europe on orders for a while.    Plus I'd have to deal with the whole issue of getting back to the US with an expired GC and expired extension letter  for the interview and oath and I really can't be done with it!  So I'm just going to wait......and wait......and wait.....and wait.....and wait a bit more......*tumbleweed blows past*
