Oh my God, it's been so long since I've been here! Things have been crazy busy with my job but I'm still waiting on my interview :( Since August last year with the message that it is ready to be schedule but the new updates on the USCIS show me absolutely nothing on when I can expect my interview. If anything, it made me depressed, if the current times are as updated as they seem.

Does anybody know if scheduling an Infopass on the I-485 works? By the definition of the USCIS website, I'm not 'outside of the processing times' (9 months since filing and 8 months since it's been ready to be scheduled), but I've been wondering if going to my Local Office will give me answers.

I just tried to see what appointments were available for my field office but there aren't any right now (maybe cause it's the weekend). I know you can submit an SR for the i-485 if it's been more than 6 months without an update. I know some offices take walk-ins but that's a gamble, of course.

Also, to all Aug filers still waiting for their combo cards, I'm standing in solidarity with all of you. Personally, I fluctuate between feeling fine about it and being overcome with awful anxiety. I know it's really uncomfortable not having the combo card but please take care of yourselves mentally AND physically in the meantime. <3

I've been wondering this too, but my local office is way too far for me to try this. If it's not far for you, it can't hurt to try! I'd love to know if they can tell you anything extra about why it isn't getting scheduled.

My wife and I have actually made an infopass appointment just to check up on our i-485 status (Our case has been 'ready to be scheduled for an interview' since August). Upon inquiring about our i-485 status to the immigration officer, the officer literally just looked in the system and gave us a generic answer saying that our interview is ready to be scheduled and to just be patient. I'd say it's not worth the hassle at all. Just my thoughts.

Oh my! That is definitely not worth the hassle at all! Have you tried talking to a Tier 2 officer about it?

"Funny" thing happened on the lovely processing times page today. The employment-based AOS (not my case, thank god) went back to up to 50 months of processing time (processing May 2014). The family-based is in July, 2016. Still a lot!

We unfortunately raised numerous SR's to which one was completed with no response received, calling a tier 2 officer with no avail besides given the generic answer of to wait for the interview to be scheduled.. :(

Slightly informative post on Reddit about USCIS processing times and why they're so long

The main thing I got from this is that USCIS has very little employees (less than 17,000 people processing millions of applications). How is that even possible!?

Solution: if you have not committed any crimes anywhere, just approve it. haha No interviews necessary.
