Well it’s my second day back home with my love in our apartment in SLC and it feels like i’ve never been gone! Good luck to everyone still waiting for their visas! Might see you in the AoS filers group! But i’ve still got my tetley tea and nando’s sauce to remember home! 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Happy to hear! :D If you think you'll file AOS this month, please come join us in the June thread! Same goes for anyone else in here who might be a June filer of course.

PS. I brought some of my Swedish chocolate but it's already gone! And I miss Swedish mix & match candy. But my sister will be over in about two weeks fortunately. I have several requests for her ;)

Congratulations to all the POEs such great news everyone is moving along.

I had a question   Do you get your SSN after you get married or before? Which one is better to do?

The general recommendation here on VJ is that it's better to do before because some people have been denied when they applied already married and had to wait until they got their EADs. However, I also know of a few that applied after marriage and were fine, so it seems to depend on which SSN staff you get and maybe which state your in.

I took the advice and applied before marriage, but unfortunately they couldn't find me in their system (SAVE) and had to do a manual verification. So I am still waiting. It happens to some people but doesn't have anything to do with whether you apply before or after marriage :)

So I had my medical today in London. All ok but they need some more information from my GP. I thought I’d provided enough to satisfy this but apparently not. Another hurdle to cross. My interview is on the 21st.

everyone

Today was my interview it went ok ok but they didn’t approved my case yet, for some additional documents they put on hold and gave me the 221 g white slip

they wanted more documents like photo email, chat , video chat records, evidence of all ticket, hotel reservation which I have already submitted and carried with me during interview. I don’t have problem to submit all this again but most weird part is they ask for evidence that we have made plan for a wedding in th us like reservation with an officiant or court date, printed wedding invitations, a list of vendors and their contact information, receipts for wedding outfit and rings receipt and also they want list of planned wedding guests theirs relationships to us addresses and phone numbers hold on not finish notarized statements describing how we met each other and why did we decided to get married. Any ways we are willing to try this also but my question what if we booked every things they asked for In USA and we paid the token amount to everyone and my visa will not be approved by consular then we have to face huge loss..

anyone has asked to submit these type of evidence please do reply me back

I have not been in your situation, but I think all those wedding things they're asking must merely be suggestions of evidence you CAN submit if you want to. Because like you said, it's unreasonable that all K1s should have their weddings planned in that detail, without an approved visa in hand. It sounds like they just need some extra reassurance of a bonafide relationship.

I would submit all the other things - photos, emails, video chat records (all dated, make sure it covers the time since the I-129F was submitted), tickets  etc, and notarized statements of how you met - although I suppose separate statements as you are in different countries. And then for the wedding, I would write a signed letter explaining the circumstances of not having a set date, or a venue, or invitations yet, simply due to the uncertain nature of the K1 visa process. If you have rings, submit receipts, and maybe make a list of people you plan to invite, your relationship to them, and their contact information. If you had planned to just go to the city hall, give them the adress to that city hall, intended date, name and contact info of witness.

Thank you so much for quick response!

much appreciated

I am willing to do everything whatever they asked for but I am curious without having our visa in hand to booked the reception hall and court date appointment, make all arrangements. Incase if they don’t approved my case after doing all this things in usa only We know how much loss we have to face together. Actually we don’t have any other option also rather than to follow what they asked for.

i am so scared right now

why would they  asked me to booked court date and give them vendor information.

Is it a good sing?? What do u think after doing this they will really approved my case

No worries :) I say don't book anything - just write intended date of marriage.

This is a good sign, and I don't think you should be scared. They probably think you have a good case, but they just want some extra proof and be reassured you're most definitely going to get married. This is your chance to convince them. It does not mean you have to have all wedding details set in stone, but they seem to want to know more about your plans, so give them everything you have.

If you see it from their perspective, they have to check a box that says "bonafide relationship" and one that says "intent to marry". And if asked about this specific case by their superiors later, they have to be able to show why they thought those two criteria were fulfilled. So show them.
