Glad your trip went well.  When you came back to the US did you and your wife both go through the same line in customs despite one of you being the US citizen?  We have a trip planned in March and I figured we both would just go through the same line at customs "for noncitizens I think", despite one of us being the USC who could go through the electronic checks section on our own.  Don't want to be away from her in case something happens you know?

I don't know how it is everywhere, but in Houston, there is a single line for Permanent Residents and Citizens with the automated kiosks. We went together and knew that my card wouldn't scan because it is expired. We asked the lady there who was manning the machines and she said to skip the machine part and go straight to the border agent. We both went there together and only I had to do the fingerprint part and photo, as usual.

So as the holidays approach, we're just wanting to make sure we have everything in order, as we are planning on driving to Canada to visit Daneile's family for a few days. What all do we need to bring in regards to ensuring no issues at the border?

We have her new Canadian passport (with married name), green card (expired, obviously), and we have the original 12 month extension and the two copies of the 18 month extension (I was one of the people who got the 18 month letter, then shortly after got another because of some error on USCIS's side). Should I bring all the extension letters, or just the 18 month? I could see that confusing the people at the border if we have multiple extension letters, but I'm always worried that someone at the border won't understand or just flat out not know what to do (when we crossed with her visa initially, it took 5-6 officers, including one with a handbook with instructions, to figure out how to process Danielle). Other than that, we've had pretty decent experiences at the entry point we cross at (Port Huron, MI).

Bring one extension letter. No need to confuse them and the exp. green cardof course.

Bring  alone the last extension letter, expired green card  and passport. Don’t worry you won’t have any problem, went to Canada with my friend who also had extension letter and we had no problem.

We got back last Friday and she had her green card and approval letter in her mail.

she is divorced from her husband, they were married for a year, she was invited for interview, and got her green card and approved letter after a week of her interview.

Her whole i751 journey took 1 year 7 months.

Hello guys,

I am sorry that I forgot to provide updates on the 18 months extension notice letter - the notice date was 8/6.

BTW, have you guys noticed that we are no longer Vermont filers...?

I checked USCIS site, and when you click on "where to file", you are supposed to now send your documents to Texas.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-751

I am sorry if I missed this discussion if it has been already mentioned here, but does this mean that they are processing ours in Texas or we are still with Vermont....?

I also found another thread on this subject

Filing Location Change for Form I-751

On Sep. 10, USCIS changed the filing location for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. This form was previously filed at the California and Vermont service centers. Now, petitioners must send Form I-751 to a USCIS Lockbox facility. However, the California, Nebraska, Vermont, and Texas service centers will be the adjudicating offices. When filing at a Lockbox facility, petitioners have the option to pay the fee with a money order, personal check, cashier’s check, or credit card. Please follow the Where to File and Filing Fee directions on the I-751 page. Last Reviewed/Updated: 09/10/2018

CSC and Vermont are so backed up that they started processing in Texas and Nebraska back in September. I would imagine yours in still in Vermont and all new one's beginning in September are now going to Texas or Nebraska

I submitted pretty much everything I did with my ROC plus extra. So I gave a copy of my Green Card, marriage certificate, 3 years of tax transcripts, birth certificate of my son, affidavits from a friend and sister (extra), bank statements from AOS until now, credit card statements from AOS until now, car lease, car insurance from AOS until now, rental agreement, life insurance, health insurance from AOS until now, phone agreement from AOS until now, Power of Attorney, and Living Will. Considering it was all online I figured it was easier to add more than necessary than not enough and hope that it all pays off without RFE.

Congrats to @3rd for starting your naturalization process! Seems so weird that we can do that before our 10 year GC are finalized 😂 If I can afford to do it when the time comes, then I'll be doing the same thing.

I left the country for 2 weeks to visit England, came back to ATL thinking I'd be grilled by a IO, only to find the nicest guy waiting for me when I got off the plane? Asked me how long I had been in England, why I was there, tip type tip type, done. I handed over my passport, greencard and letter and he seemed to know the drill. No other questions! I was pleasantly surprised.
