Man, Vermont really slowed down with dishing out those Biometrics! Still haven't received my appointment and my case status says "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case." My only fear, honestly, is stuff getting lost in the mail. 

 

Gonna try and renew my drivers licence soon! Fingers crossed all goes well.

Guys I just got my Approval notice! Removal of conditions approved! Green card itself should arrive within 60 days! Finally!!

My turn has come!  I received a notification at 5.30pm CST yesterday that my card is in production and approved. It was such a relief to see the notification come in. I received a text first, then an

Same here, same message, no biometric appointment letter yet, after a month of NO1.

Thanks for the update, you were the last remaining Vermont filer we hadn't heard had received their NOA1. Your biometrics should be on its way real soon based on other filers with similar timeframes.

I haven't been on here for awhile because of our busy tax season. But happy its over now. From the looks of it, I haven't missed much. We are also getting the message "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1(800) 375-5283 for additional ifnormation." Kinda bummer the VSC has slowed down :(

Hi all, I just checked my case status on USCIS website and found it updated from "cannot provide you with information for your case" thing, to "Fingerprint Review Was Completed". I see it a sign that the website has come back to normal working condition now. Hopefully your case status are updated as well.

Had my biometrics today. Went sooo much smoother than last time. My appointment was at 8am, I got there at 7:45 and I was done at 8:07. I don't know if they always do it but the woman who took my prints asked me if I had my green card on me. Don't know if it was her preferring to write down my information from it instead of my driver's license or if they always do that. Might be worth bringing it. 

 

I also just checked my status on USCIS and they have already updated it to saying they've finished the review of my prints. So time for more wait and I am looking forward to filing for citizenship and be done with this.

@starsky I wasn’t nervous filing so close because to them it’s really black and white: file a mere day early and you’ll be denied stating it’s too early. It’s still within the 90 days and they accepted it and stated “your case is now properly filed”.  Also this way it’s getting me closer to the 3-year mark when I can go ahead with the naturalization application, that one I will do as early as the beginning of 90 days. 02/02/2018 +9 months= 11/02/2018 so in 7 month I can get started. My timeline should already be updated.

No updates here on the California backlog, but it looks as if Vermont filers are progressing nicely.

Good info, I think someone else also recommended taking your expired GC. Happy to hear it went well!

I guess I'm not quite following, I thought you said you had 1 day left to file and then you would have been outside of the 90 day filing mark and risking falling out of status. If that's not the case then I was mistaken.

 

As for getting closer to the 3-year mark, my understanding is this is based on your GC issuing date is it not? I don't think your filing of the I-751 has anything to do with when you can apply for naturalization.  Does it?

Went to fingerprinting yesterday with my wife. When we went in October/November of 2015 for the first fingerprinting the USCIS center in Alexandria VA was a packed house. Took about an hour and some change before we were out and on with our day.

 

Yesterday? Ghost town. Just us and one other person. I can only speculate on the reason, but it was a little disconcerting.

Same here. I went to Alexandria in September/October that year. And it was packed! Line was out the door and I remember it was a pretty hot day.

 

Yesterday I went and there were maybe 10-15 people. Really weird.

Also, they gave my wife a little bit of a problem with her two middle names. In Yemen you have to put four names on your passport: your first/given name, your family name, your father's name, and your grandfather's name. When we filed originally we put these names on there because that's what her passport says. Apparently the Green Card doesn't reflect this, even though we never had any problems before. Thankfully my wife had her driver's license on her so it never became an issue. But just FYI if anyone else has a similar situation. Just bring another form of ID just in case.
