Hello everyone,

I am a US citizen as of August 2015 and can anyone tell me more details on how to get a Dual Citizenship I did read all the asked question online about it such as form, filing fees, advantages of becoming one and etc. But I just can't find the answer of where to file the paper when I am filing as I am from states of Montana and the place for doing the Oath of ceremony. I hope I don't have to travel far and do interview??? I'm not sure. I'm hoping I can just do all closer and like Oath here in Montana and such things. Let me know if anyone had this done already I would appreciate it. Thanks!

So you lost your Philippine citizenship when you got your US citizenship and now you want to get it back (dual citizenship)? Just wondering whether I understand it correctly

According to the Philippines you have lost citizenship to that country once you became a USC. You have to file to have your Philippine citizenship regained with the consulate that takes care of that state.

I will post a link to their website when I get home.

That's what it sounds like.

Why would you need to do an interview and oath if you are already a us citizen?

Yes I got that but they aren’t asking this in the Philippines sub forum but in the us citizenship passport forum and asking about doing an oath ceremony in Montana. So it wasn’t entirely clear and hence I asked a question to clarify.

Does the Philippines have a embassy there even?

Ah okay, I didn't see where it was posted. I wondered the same, but I highly doubt Montana has a Philippine consulate or embassy.

:-) no worries. I asked it to be moved so that those who are on the Philippines sub forum can give insight ( they are a good group over there)

Montana is represented by the consulate in San Francisco.   The oath taking must be done in person.   You can watch for an outreach event in your state, the consulate usually does one event a year.

Only one Embassy per country and they are located in that particular countries federal capital.  In the USA that would be Washington DC

YMMV

You after to look at the different consulates to see where they cover.
