I think OP is interviewing for her citizenship? Therefore it's been 9 years since she's living here?

Anyway, to OP, citizenship interview is usually the easiest interview along the process of immigration. I did mine earlier this month, and it was a breeze.

Don't worry, as long as your case is nothing weird or suspicious, you'll be fine.

Try to relax, I was also super nervous when I did my N400 interview, and I could literally feel my voice shaking lol, which caused me to spit out wrong answers on 2 questions... (my brain can't function properly when I get super anxious)

However, the whole interview was very simple, I only had to give him 2016 Tax records (I didn't upload this online when I applied), and my house deeds. I brought other documents but the IO told me what he had was good enough, and I was approved.

Relax and good luck!

Thanks you all!

yeah should be easy but I unfortunately have had BAD experiences with Immigration from being detained at airports twice to someone trying to have me kicked out of the USA ( ex didn’t want to pay child support therefore called USCIS on me for fraud thinking if I get kicked out I’ll take kid and leave) .

Even though it was only aggravating and obviously nothing ever came of it I can’t help but think what’s gonna go wrong this time around..

And yeah 9 years from entry 01/27/2009 until Interview 01/22/2018 for N 400 Interview.

Well, my gut was right...

it went wrong...

Took the test went through the questions, she made me sign that I want to take the Oath ...

Then she says she has to check one more thing looks at her computer, shakes her head and says she can’t approve me yet because of a background check that’s not back “ because the system is too slow”.

She then handed me a letter saying recommended for approval and that’s it.

once I get out to the waiting area again I overhear another IO tell an applicant to be there at 1.30 pm for the ceremony...

so much for the system being slow...

I don’t know what’s going on other than that I had a feeling something would go wrong and sure as hell it did....

Americanintrainin let me know how it went for you in Seattle today

After the interview, IO told me that everything looks good and that she is recommending me for approval. That is also the option she marked on the letter she gave to me. There is no option on letter that says approved.

I think you are alright and will get the updates soon.

Thanks,

Khawar

Hey! I know your past experience affected you and made you think it went wrong. But it sounds like it went fine!!

I, just like you, got a letter that says I was recommended for approval, and IO did tell me I've passed. But my online status said "quality review" for about a week before they scheduled me for an oath ceremony.

Don't worry, some IO's are more senior and can make decisions on the spot, some can't. I'm sure you'll hear something soon!
