Do we think with the new embassy opening in London in Jan 2018 will speed up the process of k1 or will there be complications ? I ask as I’m awaiting the nbc to receive the petition and forward it to London so in assume by the time that happens the new embassy will be up and running

I guess I hadn’t heard about a new embassy in London,but I doubt it will make a difference in processing times.

Every time there is a change of some type in the process there are a few teething pains. I've seen many over the years.  Probably expect that if you go through smack in the middle of the change. They may shut down a few days for the move. It may only be the website misses updating some pages and you have conflicting instructions, or your file goes to old embassy, but your interview is at new one so you hope it got moved and not misplaced. They probably are not adding employees, so the pace will probably be the same once they get the move accomplished. 

 

You could avoid getting in the very middle of the confusion by waiting a few weeks before submitting your online forms, and having the medical.

London has always been fairly speedy, baring any kinks in the system I'd expect it to be the same. The embassy is not really the issue in making cases so slow... it's the USCIS service centers.
