Hi everyone! I'm new to this site! And I need some help!! :(

I live in NJ so sent my packet to VSC on 12/20,  however the usps tracking number never showed as delivered. We called the usps and the post office in VT and they quickly said there's an issue with all packages to USCIS that even though they are delivered, it doesn't show on the customers end. They confirmed that the packet was delivered on 12/23 and mailed me a confirmation printed from their system which does indicate that someone from VSC signed for the packet.

HOWEVER!! The problem is, I still haven't gotten anything from them, no NOA, nothing! We used a bank check cause we thought that's safer and didn't know that we wouldn't be able to see if they cash it this way. On top of all that, not sure where we saw it we add PO Box 200 to the deliver address which I believe they used to use that for 751 but not anymore, the post office person promised that the po box number does not matter they actually give everything to USCIS no po box is used no matter what we put on the envelop...but I'm still worried :( especially I still haven't received anything back from them to confirm that they did get my packet...without a case number probably can't call them anyway nothing they can look up? Any suggestions? Should I go ahead and send another packet or keep waiting? My GC expiration date is 3/2.

Thank you all in advance!!

Welcome!  Don’t do anything!  The USCIS received the case and it just takes patience.  You have a whole month and a half to get your NOA which extends your residency for another year from March 2nd.  The NOA will be dated the day they received it and you won’t have a case number until you receive the biometrics letter anyhow.

Keep your $680 and call towards the middle of February using your A# if you don’t receive your NOA.  Your check will cash late, but I can understand the anxiety!  Just remember that region had a typhoon bomb or whatever they call it recently (you would know best, being from Jersey).  That would close down federal buildings for days on end and cases can’t get processed.  Yours may have been towards the bottom of the pile, but should get some movement later this month.

Keep is posted about your progress!  Let us know if you don’t get anything or when you do!!! It’s coming!

Signature coming soon...

Congrats to you both!!!!! Good to see VSC moving. Still no biometrics for me, I'm waiting desperately cos i want to buy my air tickets lol.

@divorcedgayman is the biometrics on the list the appointment date? Trying to add u both but getting confused which date to use :P so yeap gonna leave it to u!

Hi @Roy&Chanel ! In a column "Biometrics" we can just put a date of the actual biometrics appointment at the USCIS. If there's a need for the delivery date of the biometrics appointment letter, we can also include it!

Let me know!

Hi everyone,

I was a part of the forum a while back for my conditional 2 year green card and just remembered to come back and check out the I-751 forum now.

I filed 12/06/17

got my NOA 12/24/17 dated 12/11/17

and just got my biometrics scheduled for 01/23/18 in Pittsburgh PA

so far very painless... although we moved house a year ago and although I filed the online change of address form we didn't realize my wife had to fill out a separate form so thanks to reading through this thread we saw our mistake and just did that with a copy of my NOA receipt and a very nicely worded apology letter.

12/06/2017 - Applied for Removal of Conditions I-751

12/11/2017 - NOA date

12/24/2017 - NOA received

01/08/2018 - Sent I-865 late, oops

01/13/2018 - Received Biometrics appointment

01/23/2018 - Biometrics appointment in Pittsburgh PA

02/28/2019 - Approval letter received

I just checked the timeline of when I-751 cases are being approved. Currently they are working on cases filed in November 2016. I never worried, until now, that a year long extension wouldn't be long enough. Is anyone else worried about this??

I just checked the timeline of when I-751 cases are being approved. Currently they are working on cases filed in November 2016. I never worried, until now, that a year long extension wouldn't be long enough. Is anyone else worried about this??

Nope.  Your GC is extended for one year from the GC expiration date.  You are at the VSC, so you have a pretty good chance of getting approved within 12 months.  But if you are not, then the tough part comes to when your expiration date is within 30 days, because then you need to get an InfoPass appointment to get the I-551 stamp in your passport.

So make sure your passport has a distant expiration date in case you need the I-551 stamp.  If you check out the January 2017 I-751 filers thread, you will see that a good percentage of VSC filers have been approved.  If you are looking at the VJ timelines for the Nov 2016 date you have, remember that some people never return back to VJ to update their information.  They may have been approved, but don't think to come back to our community to give us the valuable data we need for our predictions!

What is the separate form for address change ?? We moved a couple months ago and I filed AR-11 the online form and got an email confirmation and I thought that is it??!!! Am I missing something? oh.wait..is this the one for sponsor, so since my in law was my sponsor not my husband and she didn't move, I guess that is unnecessary for my husband to file anything..

we actually moved twice but I never reported the first move to USCIS ..totally forgot about it. Only reported the most recent one since this is the house we bought together..hope that's not a big issue...ugh...still waiting for NOA and nothing *panic*

Hi!  If your visa require a USC to "financially sponsor" you (or the foreign resident) then the USC sponsor needs to update their address with the USCIS, too.  Fiancee and spousal visas that received GC's would be in this category.  When the fiance married and they AOS'd or when the spousal visa was completed with the foreign spouse entering the US, then the USC spouse is bound to ensure that the new permanent resident would not be dependent on welfare (essentially).  So since your in-law sponsored you, and they did not move, I don't think you need to file it.

The form for updating the sponsor's address is the Form I-865.  I don't think it's such a big deal to have missed filing it, but there is no time like the present for someone to do so!  I forgot to submit it, but now at least the USCIS sees that both our addresses are the same!  Since you two bought a house together, you probably included that evidence in the ROC packet, so you should be fine.

What service center are you and when did you file?

Sorry, I should have been more specific, this is correct. My wife is my sponsor and a US citizen. I just didn't realize about I=865 until I read this forum. As far as I can tell there is a fine for not doing it on time but they generally only assess that if they are the ones who catch you. It was a year and a half late but we are correcting this now. You should make sure this is up to date because they will almost certainly notice during the I-751 process. On the plus side the I-751 came to my address no problem even before we filed the I-865. So as long as you have your address up to date there should be no processing problems.

Even if it's late I highly recommend filing it asap. I attached a copy of my NOA for reference and a cover letter to explain the mistake. There is no charge and its a very simple form. Better to admit to your honest mistake rather than hoping it doesn't get found out.
