WASHINGTON — The FBI was flooded Friday with more than 200,000 background check requests for gun purchases, setting a new single day record, the bureau reported Saturday.

In all, the FBI fielded 203,086 requests on Black Friday, up from the previous single-day highs of 185,713 last year and 185,345 in 2015. The two previous records also were recorded on Black Friday.

Naw, I was too tuckered to shop.  Went to bed around 0100 and slept til 1400 the next day.

I did order two custom knives though... But won't get to see them til after Xmas.  Could have bought a gun cheaper...

Huh? Aren't you allowed to own guns in California? I met a guy when I lived there and he told me he owned several guns and rifles.

Yeah you can own guns, but the state restricts some make/models that can be sold within the state. Also this doesn't take into account that in order to buy a long gun you will have to wait at least 10 days at the most 30 days to buy it, while in other states it's same day.

Also they restrict the magazine's you can buy and some firearms need to have a bullet button in order for it to be sold in CA

I have only bought 1 firearm since living here in California due to the restrictions. I have bought all of my magazines outside this state.

I don't recall exactly what he told me about all the restrictions, I believe he said that he couldn't carry his gun for example and had to put them in a safe.

Sooo...after you move to NC you're gonna shop till you drop :jest:

Yeah technically they have to be put up and pretty much unarmed. Also trying to get a ccw is next to impossible here in Los Angeles County unless your rich, a celebrity, or friends with the sheriff. You can't open carry in a city at all, it has to be basically in the middle of no where.

I already have a plan to buy at least 2 guns in January. So I will have fun for sure
