Thank you very much, the consulate is in Paris now I'm the petitioner, am I the one scheduling the appointment or my fiancé supposed to?

Your fiance should fill out the DS160, pay the fees and schedule the interview and the medical according to his or her availability.

Of course you can help him or her as much as you can but this next part is mostly for the beneficiary. For example, the beneficiary MUST certify that they are signing the DS160 electronically by hitting the submit button themselves.

It seems that the consulate wants to know about them, see them in person to get a feel for who they are, and through their DS160 find out a bit about their family, their travel and work history and so on. Some of this was covered in the I-129F but the DS160 fleshes these out more.

As far as I can tell this is all standard for most kinds of US visa, although I am not an expert.

What the consulate wants to make sure about the petitioner seems to be whether they are free to marry, whether they still intend to marry and whether they can support the beneficiary sufficiently. And in some cases, they might want to see proof of ongoing relationship but this seems to be more in cases from high-fraud countries.

Take a look at that thread for specifics about your consulate in particular.

Congrats! Sorry, how long did it take to get your docs?

I mean the sealed envelope to hand to immigration :D I just got over excited and couldn't think what to say! What I really should have posted is "Visa in hand!"

My initial application was received May 12th 2017 :)

Hello everyone, I assume this question has been asked before, nevertheless please share your experience.

How long does the administrative processing for approved K1 visa usually take? I read in other forums that it can take months, but that's insane. My visa was approved on  22 Feb, and still no news.

I see but how long did it took for you to get the visa in hand from the date of your interview? I am on administrative processing after the interview. I just wonder if you had the same and how long it took for you to get your visa in hand. Thanks

My interview was Feb 14th, but my medical results hadn't arrived yet so there was a bit of a delay. Almost 2 weeks exactly from my interview date :)

Yep! When the case reaches to the embassy they will call and then send an email with the invitation letter with all the instructions for the interview and the copy of approved I-129f petition.
