As anyone tried appling for the K3 visa? Is it much quicker than the i-130 '/CR-1a? What are the requirements for the application for me and our child

K-3 isn't quicker.  The K-3 gets converted to an IR/CR-1 along the way.

The 2 of them got me really confused the other day, and they both seem to jump other threads rather than start their own which adds to the confusion.

USCIS.gov look for I-130 and make sure to download and read both the form AND instructions that come with it.

You mail the I-130 petition to the correct USCIS address in the USA.   Do read the links I provided to you

There is no physical presence required for CRBA or CR-1.
