@SJ1024 you can call in a few hours again, they are updating all the time the system. @AnaMolina called 3 times a day to get it :)

Yeah, I'm definitely going to try again in the evening. I'm relieved they have my file at least ... fingers crossed I get the case number soon.

How long does it normally take for status to change at NVC i have had my case number since friday. We have completed the DS-160  already and are ready to pay fee and submit. To get rolling with this.

I think their system is just slow to update. I think they sent out our case last friday and their system just updated to transit yesterday and when the embassy opens for business they received the package and update the case to ready. I had my case goes from in transit to ready in 2 hours lol

I'm sure your case is moving just like your NOA2, just that their system is not updated. I suggest you go start the process in the Phillipines. Good luck!

We have got DS160 ready to submit and pay fee to schedule but i do not want to mess up anything if not showing ready.

@Murph4865 You can always reschedule your interview. Book your interview ahead since they have limited slot. Book the day you want first, if something changes, you can reschedule

@Murph4865 What I did was

- Fll out DS-160, print out confirmation. Then send DS-160 confirmation + 2 passport photos + passport copies to the embassy

- Create UStraveldocs accounts, and submit it (it requires Ds-160 confirmation #, Passport #, MNL #) , print out the confirmation page then pay the visa fee at the post office or wherever instructed in the Philippines. It unlocks your appointment schedule the next day, please make sure keep the receipt for visa fee.

Funny story. I called last night. The first person I talked to said to wait 6 weeks as they don't have my file ... I politely said okay and hung up.

I called again about 5 minutes later, and they did confirm they have my file (received on the 26th), and that I should have my case number within 2 weeks as they are doing things electronically. I browsed through the forums and this is the exact same thing that happened with @eastcoastgroove.

Hello everyone :) I received my NOA2 3rd of November. Patiently waiting now for a case number. What is the typical waiting time? And is there anything I can do in the meantime or do I need that case number to move forward?

Hi @Cristina24, today is our 20th day and NVC keeps saying they have no record for our case number.

In the meantime you can gather Police Certificate(s) and make sure your vaccination record is updated. You can also start to fill in DS-160 but without the NVC number, dont' submit it!

There is nothing now that you can do But get ready for the later end! I would say it’s 2 months from NOA2 and when you see your baby :)

You should call everyday at 2 weeks. It may take longer but it could be that soon. And 2 months, that depends on your country and how they process it. Some take longer and some can be done within 1.5 months (if prepared properly)
