I just had my behind-the-wheel test today and passed. Unfortunately, because my i94 expires in less than 30 days, they won't issue me a driver's license card. I need to go back with my aos approval letter so that i can be given a card. But i can still use my learner's permit for the meantime.

I applied for a DL card Last September so my i94 was still more than 30 days that was why they accepted my application. Dmv california just has a long wait for appointment which sucks that's why i had to wait so long for my behind-the-wheel driving test.

You can use the drivers permit once it’s not expired.... usually the same time frame on your Form I -94.

Its  has to be an AOS approval only or EAD can work ( like what Social Security accepts) ???

Hello!

We sent off our AOS package on Friday and FedEx tracking says it will arrive tomorrow morning (Monday October 2nd) So thought I'd start a new thread for anyone else filing in October! 😊

I entered on a K1 Visa on August 11th , and we married 3 weeks later! I've filed for EAD/AP also. I've blogged about my entire immigration journey so far and the link is down below! Good luck to everyone , fingers crossed our wait isn't too long ❤️

have you received your biometrics letter?

Hi,

Just to update you since both our packet was received in Oct 17th.

I received e-notifications from USCIS that my packet was received and was given receipt numbers already. I received 4 text msgs and 4 emails. So, I'm assuming it's for the forms 130/130a, 485/864/693, 765, and 131. According to the email I should get the official receipt (Form I-797) in the  mail within 7-10 days. Hopefully, you get yours as well. Good luck and keep us posted. :)

i also got my e-notifications last night (late, around 11sh) so we were already in bed and didn't get a chance to update you guys right away! =D i got 3 texts and 3 emails (i am adjusting from a k1 so did not have to submit 130/130a.

my receipt numbers all start with MSC - so does this mean all of them will be adjudicated at NBC? I thought at least the AOS will be done at a local field office. Did yours all start with MSC too?

Edit: I just checked the case tracker and my numbers are already trackable. The EAD and AP numbers show "Case Was Received" but the AOS one shows "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" - is this what it should be?

Seems everyone's starts with MSC! I think maybe they will get sent to your local office eventually , but will all start at NBC! 😚 Yes that's correct for your case statuses!

Yes they still gave me back my permit which i can still use. But it's not the same as having a DL card. :/

I think it depends on the state where you live in.  California will only accept the EAD card or the approval notice from USCIS .

Some people told me that their dmv accepted with just their receipt notice (minnesota and wisconsin)

Good to hear that you got the notifications as well.:) Yes, all my receipt starts with MSC. I think the EAD and I-131 stays at NBC and AOS goes to your local office. I tried to track mine earlier today and they all worked now and that's exactly what it says on my AOS receipt  "Fingerprint Fee Was Received".  And they finally cashed the checks. *phew* :) Good luck!
