I got my case number/IIN on Oct. 27, and was able to pay both the AOS and IV fee that day. There was no DS-261 (Choice of Agent) form. So I paid the fees. I called the NVC today and they said I don't need to submit a DS-261 since they already had that info (and no, I am not using a lawyer because I know in those circumstances no form is required), and was told the IV fee is only payable once the DS-261 is submitted but in my case it is not needed.

This may also be because I am electronically processing this as a PIVOT case (Montreal embassy).

Hi all. Our package was received by NVC today. Our approval date was oct 16. We hope to receive our case number next week so we can begin with this stage!!

has anybody dealt with a change of embassy? If so how did you go about it? We had originally selected Panama as that is where we lived but I, the beneficiary, is back in my home country Peru.

nvc told us to wait to have a case number to see about the location change.

Hi,

I just completed the DS-260 form and saw this information on confirmation page that " When NVC has your DS-260, financial documents, and civil documents, they will review these items. Please allow 30 days for NVC to complete their review". As mentioned by other people, it will take up to 11 weeks for the case to be reviewed. That I am a bit of confusing. Does anybody know whether it is 30 days or 11 weeks please. Many thanks

Trust the 11 weeks. It usually takes less but it’s closer to 11 weeks than 30 days.

Oh hey I'm going through the new e process as well! They took their time creating our case but we got our info on 26 Oct and payment was processes in 2 days.

I'm getting my police cert today so to complete all the uploads. We should keep each other posted since we have similar time line for this new system :)

Hi all,

Can anyone please remind me how I can find out how long it might take for my husband to get an interview in Madrid? Here is our situation:

- We sent documents again to NVC after getting a checklist. Received at NVC in mail (return receipt) Sept 13. Not sure if that was the scan date (probably a bit after that).

- the 11 week wait (again) should end around Nov 30.

Thanks!

October 2011: Met in Spain

2012-2014: Video chat + visas + visits and vacations = we made it through!

June 2014: Moved to Spain, got engaged

December 31, 2015: got married

April 20, 2016: sent I130 package

May 2, 2016: package received in Chicago Lockbox - - - 12 days for delivery!! Don't use TNT couriers!!

May 2nd or 5th, 2016: email NOA1... accepted and sent to.... NEBRASKA

And now.... breeeeeeathe..... be like water my friend....

October 26th, 2016: NOA2 [We had waited almost 6 months. Received notification from the phone app, never got an email.]

November 9th 2016: USCIS sent the petition to NVC (app notification) [waited 2 weeks after approval for this]

November 25th 2016: NVC received and created account for our petition [waited 16 days after USCIS sent it, for NVC to acknowledge receipt]

Dec 1st 2016: Chose agent online DS261 [a few days later than it could've been since the above NVC email went to SPAM!]

Dec 6th 2016: Case available for paying fees. That was fast, I think! 5 days!

Took a long time to get package out because... life... and husband's family in Morocco had to travel to get police document.

Feb 20th 2017: Scan date at NVC, received weird email.

April 28th 2017: CHECKLIST. Moroccans are required to send a Court Report regardless of Police Record status. My husband had to go back to Morocco to get it in person. Also, NVC wants a 2016 tax return now that is 2017. My bad.

September 15th 2017: 2nd Scan Date at NVC. Sent for document review October 20th.

Nov 10th 2017: Email requesting document be brought to interview. Will schedule interview.

Case complete date??: TBD :clock:.... November 8th!!

Interview date : January 18, 2018!!           Result: Administrative Processing

Embassy called for new medical last week of August. New Medical Sept 10.

Visa ISSUED September 14, 2018.

Hi! I've been talking to another VJ member who has changed the embassy location. They received the case number but it wasnt where the beneficairy is currently living (the first 3 digit of case number is the location) so they called and requested for a change of embassy location by email. They managed to get a new case number generated in a few days i think.

But this was due to NVC mixed up her country of origin not that they picked the original embassy tho. Hope it helps!

My status has changed today "At NVC" and my AOS fee is gone as well. I just phoned to confirm and the super nice lady informed me that my case is completed today. My SD is 8/31. Those who are waiting with late August or early September SD, keep checking your status, hopefully yours one is next. Good Luck !!
